Great News from Island View School (submitted by NB Teacher Wellness) Despite a very difficult few weeks the staff of Riverview High were successful in completing their October movement challenge of collectively walking / running 3000 kms! Each km was represented in a section of a beautiful mandala made for them by a student. We applaud them for making wellness a priority. Congratulations team members Alanna Jamieson, Jessica Arseneau , Marie-Claude LeBlanc, Melissa Nicholson, and Helene Chiasson

CAPSLE is pleased to announce our next webinar, On their toes: discussing the ever changing demands of educating students during a pandemic, which will take place on November 30, 2020 beginning at 1 p.m. Eastern time. This webinar will update CAPSLE members on the most important education and law developments arising from the COVID-19 crisis. Each region has different issues, and we are taking a cross country panel approach to discussing the many key developments. Our kno...wledgeable panel members include: J. Kent Donlevy, University of Calgary, AB; Ian Pickard, McInnes Cooper, Halifax, NS; and Heather Ann McConnell, Goldblatt Partners, Toronto, ON. Registration for the webinar is free of charge. We want to express special thanks the webinar sponsor, McInnes Cooper. McInnes Cooper is a long-standing supporter of CAPSLE, and we greatly appreciate their contribution. We are very pleased to confirm that we will be using a PheedLoop virtual conferencing platform for this webinar. This is the same platform that we will be using (with some additional features) for the May 2021 conference. PheedLoop is a Canadian company that strives to make organizing conferences, meetings, and trade shows easy with event management software. From streaming and real-time video networking to gamification and exhibit booths, PheedLoop’s virtual event systems can bring the on-site event experience to the virtual world. We invite you to check it out on November 30, so you can see just how effective the virtual conference experience can be. To register for the webinar, please send an email to [email protected] and a space will be saved for you. Once you have emailed your request to participate in the webinar, a confirmation message will be returned to you. A reminder email setting out your log in information will be sent closer to the webinar date and again on the morning of the webinar. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Lori at [email protected] or at 905-702-1710. Thank you and we look forward to hearing from you!

Great News submitted by Nackawic Elementary School! Miss Morgan's grade four class decided to honour the veterans by painting poppies on rocks and placing them at the cenotaph. On this beautiful day, we walked down to the local cenotaph in Nackawic and placed our rocks there. We looked at the names of the local Fallen Soldiers, and found some familiar last names.

Great News submitted by Harry Miller Middle School! Each year two colleagues, Jean MacDonald, retired teacher, and Heather Wright, retired EA, make sure our Wall of Honour is installed. This Wall honours family members and friends who serve, past and present, to secure our freedoms. This has been a tradition for many years where students and staff are able to share pictures to be added to the Wall and is now a collection of many years of love, gratitude and remembrance and remains up at school for the month of November. A video was also made this week and played during our assembly to share the Wall of Honour with all students and staff during our virtual Service of Remembrance on Tuesday.
