Pastor’s Thoughts // The Bible teaches that it is our responsibility to discern and act on our destiny. God has set it forth for us, but we must seek and follow it. Hebrews 11:6 says, Without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him. Our destiny will only materialize if we have faith. Faith is many things. It is a lifestyle, an attitude, a confession, a creative power..., an act of worship, a seed that grows, and a gift of the Spirit. Faith will help us reach our destiny in God, but we must also realize that we can’t have faith for something contrary to God’s plan for our lives. Many have attempted to accomplish good things, but they never came to pass. Those dreams and goals weren’t God’s will for those specific people, even though they were good things. As we begin this new year, let’s seek God for our destiny. Ask Him what He has planned for you this year, and present your desires to Him. Confirm that your pursuits are according to His will for your life. Our relationship with God begins with faith, and it is faith that carries us with Him through every circumstance!

Hi New Life Church Family, I hope this message finds you well both in spirit and body. This letter is to give a brief update on our activities as a church and invite you to partner with us as we seek to finish the year well. God has been merciful and gracious to us. With the pandemic restrictions, we found new ways to reach our current congregation and new participants. Pastor Elio and I continue to be very busy with our day to day ministry with current and new members. Furth...ermore, NLCC is continuing to fulfill our commitments to our missions endeavours such as the completion for the hospital wing in the Dominican Republic as well as helping Pastor Allan Griffin with his youth program. We remain steadfast in our commitment to serving you and our wider community. With the challenges of the pandemic and the ongoing financial strain on some of our members, we have observed a decrease of approximately 25% in our tithe and offering intake. This decrease means our operations will potentially be affected in the coming months. To help ensure we are on stronger footing, we ask that, as you are able, you consider partnering with us with a Miracle Offering. As the Lord leads you, we ask that you participate in this initiative between now and end of year 2020. During the coming weeks and during the Christmas celebrations let us dedicate ourselves to a time of worship, thanksgiving, and sacrificial giving to the Lord. We are confident that with the help of the Lord, and your generosity, we will be able to close the gap in our finances. This Biblical principle of worship and sacrificial giving is taught by Paul in 2 Corinthians 8:1-6. Paul shared that despite being poor the Macedonian churches were rich in giving freely to the needs of the church in Jerusalem. This resulted in God’s grace and favour on the Macedonians. My prayer for you is that as you freely partner with us during this time, God’s grace and favour may abound in you, that you may experience miracles beyond your wildest expectations. Hi Everyone, With the church closure, we have changed the drop off location for the food bags to the NewLife Office front reception. We would like both the drop off and pick up of the bags to be contactless to limit the exposure of Covid-19. You may drop off or pick up a filled food bag (to deliver to someone in need) between the hours of 9am-4pm, Monday through Friday. If you would like to participate in the Christmas Food Drive and don't yet have an empty tote bag, you ma...y pick one up from the NewLife Office front reception as well. Please deliver your filled food bags by Friday, December 4th. Our office entrance is located on the north side of the church building, shared with the Montessori. You can take the elevator up to Floor 1- NewLife Office, and drop the bags in the designated area. Pastor’s Thoughts // This week, we’ll continue examining the four faces of Christ. So far, we have discussed the importance of looking more like Jesus, which we can do by first loving God and then loving people. Matthew 22:37 says, Jesus declared, ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: Love your neighbour as yourself.’ The third face of Jesus is the E...agle, which speaks of poise, excellence, dignity, and discipline. The quality of this face of Jesus is: pursue excellence. We should do life with an excellent spirit, discipline, punctuality, and strong organization. We should also take extra care of our personal health and the health of our local church! When we focus on the health of the Church, our church community will experience growth in all areas, because all healthy things grow! Excellence is not being the best, but doing the best with what you have. As a church, this is one of our values. We want to provide great music, great facilities, great programs, and make people feel at home. Why? Because God gave us His best. How much more should we give Him ours? Excellence means doing ordinary things extraordinarily well. It means that you pursue quality, do things on time, and do everything with care. Jesus is our example for living with a spirit of excellence!
