The last job we were able to do before the cover-19 isolation emergency stopped us from taking on more jobs, mid March. The restoration of a custom built cedar fence -- part 1 -- involves throughly pressure wash the fence and posts. This fence was built by us in 2014 and it has stood the test of time for sure; we have no leaning or warping. Weathering is normal for cedar, but it also easy to clean and restore. There are chemicals that can enhance the color, but we try not to... use chemicals as part of our environmental procedures and commitment to our home, the Earth. A few 1X2 have pulled away and warped; however, this is pretty normal for an unstained/painted fence and it is a direct effect of changing weather and temperature -- an easy fix. The next part, -- part 2 -- is to repair the 1X2 and any boards that require it. Then if the client can, we always recommending a stain and yearly maintenance to keep the structure solid for a long time. A properly maintained fence -- cedar -- can last for 20 or more years. We hope to be back at the property as soon as we can, as soon as the client feels it is safe to have people on their property. To be continued..... after Canadians kick coven-19's butt.
