Burnaby Family Life is hosting an amazing support group for LGBTQ2SIA+ Parents: Are you a parent who identifies as LGBTQ2SIA+ and who is looking for a safe space to discuss parenting? You are invited to join in meaningful dialogue with other parents, discover helpful resources and share the joys and trials of parenting unique for people who identify with the LGBTQ2SIA+ community.... Participants will explore parenting ideas and build a respectful community of support and compassion. With the guidance of a facilitator, the group will determine weekly discussion topics relating to parenting--these may include meal times, screen time, challenging behaviours and personal struggles. International Transgender Day of Visibility (TDOV) occurs every year on March 31st. This day is dedicated to celebrating transgender people and raising awareness of discrimination faced by transgender people around the world. TDOV was first held in 2009 to celebrate the trans community in a positive light as the only other trans day is the Day of Remembrance which mourns the murders of transgender people, but does not acknowledge and celebrate living members of the community.... TDOV is now recognized and celebrated worldwide. "The transgender and non-binary community’s pride, power and resilience should be a lesson to us all. As advocates, we must commit to learning together and building a world where every person can truly thrive, said Human Rights Campaign President Alphonso David. As we celebrate International Transgender Day of Visibility, we must never forget those who still feel invisible even in their own communities and who may live every day with fear of discrimination or violence, and we must resolve to fight for a world where every transgender and non-binary person is respected and protected.

Join our friends from Vancouver Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence on March 20th as they recognize some amazing members of the LGBTQ+ community for their endless strive to make this world a better place with Sainthood, the highest form of recognition from the Abbey of the Long Cedar Canoe.

December 1st is World AIDS Day. Together we mourn and remember the lives lost to HIV and AIDS related illness and support our family, friends, and loved ones living with the virus. Together we can help end the stigma and break down barriers. Get tested, know your status, and remember U=U.

Today is Trans Day of Remembrance. We remember and honour the lives of our friends, our family, our community that were in many cases needlessly taken from us. And today we renew our pledge to fight for and with the Trans community to allow everyone to live their most authentic life and not be persecuted for being themselves. #tdor
