NFSB learned yesterday afternoon that Health Canada is investigating certain procedural masks. These are the masks that are grey on one side, with grey strips top and bottom, on the other. If you have these masks in your possession, please stop using them. Thank-you for your understanding and cooperation.... **UPDATE** - Rest assured as of Friday afternoon, these masks were out of circulation in all NFSB schools / centres / offices.
Today, February 24, is Pink Shirt Day. Here’s a snippet of how it all started in 2007 David Shepherd, Travis Price and their teenage friends organized a high-school protest to wear pink in sympathy with a Grade 9 boy who was being bullied [for wearing a pink shirt][They] took a stand against bullying when they protested against the harassment of a new Grade 9 student by distributing pink T-shirts to all the boys in their school. ‘I learned that two people can come up with... an idea, run with it, and it can do wonders,’ says Mr. Price, 17, who organized the pink protest. ‘Finally, someone stood up for a weaker kid.’ So Mr. Shepherd and some other headed off to a discount store and bought 50 pink tank tops. They sent out message to schoolmates that night, and the next morning they hauled the shirts to school in a plastic bag. As they stood in the foyer handing out the shirts, the bullied boy walked in. His face spoke volumes. ‘It looked like a huge weight was lifted off his shoulders,’ Mr. Price recalled. The bullies were never heard from again. Globe & Mail. It’s time to register for next year! From February 15 to March 15, log in to your Parent Portal account to register your child for next year. Visit https://www.nfsb.qc.ca/parent-portal/ for more info. :) **UPDATE ** Seems like some - but not all - of our schools are having some technical issues with the portal registrations - but our IT team is working on it. If you log in and don't see the "register for next year" button, check back in a day or two, everything should be good-to-go!
Dear Families - You may have received one, two, or more notifications through your Parent Portal App indicating an absence for your child. This was caused by a technical glitch while setting up the re-registration process. Our apologies.
School Elections - POSTPONED again... In a letter just received from Education Minister Roberge, New Frontiers has learned that school elections (rescheduled from Nov. 1 to Dec. 20) are POSTPONED again, and this time for several months. Please help us spread the word, especially to your family, friends and neighbours who do not use social media. All activities are cancelled, including tonight's Revision Board for the electoral list.

To vote, you need to be on our electoral list... please verify the names registered at your address. If someone is missing, or there are errors, we need to see you on Nov. 26, 4-6 pm, or Dec. 1, 4:30-10 pm.
