A hydraulic cooler blew a couple holes water in the system during the winter.. some prep work and silver solder and it's good to go!
It's a bushings and pins kind of Monday
Another line boring job on an old 966F loader. Its as good as new now! Hole was 3/8" egg shaped!
From lift axle stretched frame to 5ft out of the center and shortened up with a 5th wheel plate installed it's now a highway tractor/rig. With all these dump trucks having to be converted to spif or pulled off the road converting like this may be a good idea! And worth not just sitting!
Just a sneak peak of the xmas holiday jobs.. well one job.. besides the bus and plows lol
Winter is here and the plow mounts are getting repairs! Now we just need some snow!
Bucket rebuilds are something that I have been doing for a while now! Very cost efficient and much cheaper than new or waiting for a new bucket
Well I think we finally have the lights done... for now lol, some of the lights look brighter than others but it's just the pictures.. special thanks to the man that helped with with all this wiring!
Some 5am heavy steel multiple passes with of course a 1" weave!
A 5 ton excavator boom knuckle that dropped a pin and split with lots of heat and proper cooling cast is not an issue
What should have been a 2 day job turned into a week of hell changing the clutch was the easy part but once it was done the transmission was a whole other story!
So everyone knows how I like to do prototype builds! This was brought to me by a customer who wanted to add a goose neck to his enclosed trailer without chopping it up! Well here we are and let me say it works amazing! Installs in 10 minutes! I can build these for any trailer including my own soon
Another frame repair complete and a new style steering axle installation I forgot to take the complete picture with all the new bolts holding it together but you get the idea
I used to be one of the best stainless guys in the area.. I miss it!
Its a pin and bushings kind of day, more and more customers are calling for line boring and new bushings. Not a bad job and in the end the machine is like new!
I have split a lot of trucks and lengthened and shortened and also direct swaps but this is a first time doing a cab over conversion to an 8 bag Kenworth rear clip! This old girl is going to ride like it's on a cloud now!
To all my valued customers I will be taking next week off Monday 10th until Friday 14th. We will be finishing this service truck! The shop and road work will both be closed. Please avoid the shop unless you are working on the truck. Thanks everyone!
The weekend may be here but it was definitely a busy Friday! Making sure everyone is taken care of even if it's last minute repairs. I have some of the best customers!
No matter how strong something is built it always has a weak point! I have changed out several of these ripper shanks with a good 2" prep all the way around and whole lot of pre heat I can say I have never had a call back to repair one after.
Sometimes jobs do not go as planned even when you think they will.. this claw snapped the 5" pipe in several spots so we gouged it out and put 5" solid in! Yes that will cause it to possibly brake somewhere else down the road but it's a starting point on the redesign. This claw was so badly twisted that it took double the estimated time but thankfully the customer understood and I make it right like I always do! As long as my customers are happy I'm doing my job well!
The best part about doing wheels on dozers and excavators is getting the broken bolts out that are upside down! I have definitely gotten good at this over the last couple years!
Everyone knows I put in the long hours on big projects but at the end of the day I like to enjoy a drink and build small cool toys like this cart, don't let the idea fool you its not just another "custom" cart this machine packs a punch and I'll post more pictures as it gets closer to being done.
The next two weeks is booked up with float trailer repairs! From rotten to broken drop them off or we will come to you!
