Research continues in the Bras d'Or Lake to track the movements of lobster and eel. Partners from UINR and Ocean Tracking Network, along with Mi'kmaw harvesters... from Eskasoni, are in the field collecting species for tagging. With lobster, acoustic tags are attached to the outer shell and are visible on the animal's back. These tags enable us to better understand where they travel within the ecosystem. If you find a lobster that has been tagged, please release it back into the water so it can continue collecting valuable data to help inform the sustainable management of the species. For further information please contact Skyler ([email protected] or 902-371-6888).
