Artist Spotlight- Jerry Fryer & Aurora Heat Jerry Fryer's passion for photography dates back to when he got his first camera at only 8 years old and could only afford black and white film on his weekly allowance. The 35 years resident of Fort Smith enjoys spending time in nature with his camera as a way to stay grounded. His subjects include animals, landscapes and buildings from his life in the north and from various travel throughout the years. A wide selection of prints i...n multiple sizes is available as well as his unique greetings cards, perfect to stay connected with friends and family all year round. Aurora Heat is a thriving northern business founded by Fort Smith resident Brenda Dragon. Taking inspiration from her family's line of fur trappers and from their Indigenous Traditions and knowledge, Brenda is now making this effective to stay warm accessible to the greater number. Aurora Heat prides itself on their high quality, all-natural and sustainable products and their purpose of revitalizing the culture of Northern Indigenous trappers while fostering flexible employment for Indigenous women and youth. Choose from a wide variety of sheared beaver fur warmers or treat yourself to one of their hand-made, one-of-a-kind holiday keepsake ornaments.
