Please for your own knowledge read this: Here’s a few things you need to know about having electrical work completed at your house or business. I see a lot of people that have no idea what’s legal and what’s not. I want to help specify. If I can save one person from getting hurt or taken advantage of, I’ll be happy. An electrical permit needs to be pulled for pretty well any work you have done to your electrical system. Changing plugs, switches and light fixtures can be com...pleted by a licensed electrical contractor (LEC) without pulling a permit. (Yes you can change them yourself at your own home but you are still required to pull an electrical permit through the electrical safety authority [ESA]). When the work is completed you should receive a certificate of acceptance from your LEC from the ESA. Your bathroom Reno guy can’t install infloor heat. Your kitchen Reno guy can’t wire your kitchen(even if you send an email saying you give him permission.) Your pool guy can’t wire your pool equipment. No one can touch electrical equipment except a LEC. The ECRA number you see attached to our logo is something you need to be checking for. This number will allow you to ensure you the person saying they can do your work is a Licensed electrical contractor. Your family’s safety isn’t worth saving a few bucks. I’ve seen it way too Many handy men almost burn down houses. It’s not worth it, I promise. If you have any questions don’t hesitate to call. I don’t mind answering questions.
These are arc fault breakers. It’s (for the most part) Canadian electrical code now any circuit your electrician touches or adds has to be arc faulted. So what do these breakers do? They detect low level arcing between the hot and neutral or hot and ground, and trip instantaneously. This means if you hit a wire with a nail putting up baseboard, or have a pesky rodent eating wires it won’t burn your house down. (I’ve seen a nail from wood paneling almost burn a house down be...cause a traditional breaker doesn’t trip in the right conditions.) These breakers come with a cost of course, but know that your electrical contractor isn’t gouging you by installing these, they are using the latest technology to keep you and your family safe while adhering to the Canadian electrical code. If you have any questions about these breakers or any other kind, please feel free to reach out.
