Ladies and Gentlemen nobody is sure what's going on with the events coming in the near future. We will keep everyone updated as this virus unfolds. As far as we know things are still in place. Please be patient. Please be safe.

Its 11am and the pager sounds. One captain shows up with pillow creases on his face since he just got off the night shift. Another has left a customer standin...g at the counter to be dealt with by a coworker, as she runs to respond. The chief races to park his truck inside the hall in the empty bay since it is full of boxes of drywall mud that cannot be left to freeze outside. A fourth responder arrives in manure covered barn boots with feed dust all over his coat and hat. We are seen as firefighters by the public, but we come from many different walks of life, always leaving whatever we are up to to respond when the call comes in. Kids of firefighters learn that when they hear that sound they too need to move quickly. Perhaps they'll get dropped off somewhere on the way, or left at the hall to be picked up later once things get sorted out. The word "volunteer" has been used to describe rural departments forever, but who in their right mind would ever "volunteer" for such a lifestyle? A better word would be "on call". 24/7, 365 days. #oncalllife #itswhatwedo #adayinthelife See more

In an emergency situation seconds count. Many people still don't realize that a green flashing light means that a volunteer firefighter is responding to a call ...for help. That's why Norfolk County Fire Department partnered with www.onemedia.ca to produce this PSA asking people to yield the right of way if they see a vehicle approaching with a green flashing light. On Aug.9/19 this video will also begin showing for 3 months at The Strand - Simcoe before movies. Special thanks to our friends in the OPP West Region and Norfolk County Paramedic Services for their participation in this important PSA video. "GREEN FLASHING LIGHT: PLEASE PULL RIGHT"

Blue Star Ford Lincoln was more than happy to team up with Norfolk County Paramedic Services to help them find the perfect vehicle for their Emergency Support U...nit. Product Specialist Virginia Hutchinson took the lead on this and helped them find a 2019 Ford Expedition that the NCPS converted to their specifications. See more
