North Caribou Camps

My trip to check on NCC felt a little more heart-rending this time around. I sat at the cookhouse table thinking of all the memorable stories we usually get to hear over our summer, the roar of the boats coming around the island to the dock with big smiles on everyone's faces after a great day of fishing and the late night fires while we all become mesmerized by the starry sky.. This trip was a tad bit quieter but nonetheless it was a great few days ensuring things were secured for another winter. Water levels are higher than usual and the fishing of course was great. Hopefully these pictures can make up for our 2020 season being closed. We miss you all and hope to see everyone for the 2021 season. Stay safe & healthy

Wish we were looking at this view this morning, should of been waiting for our first groups of the fishing season to fly in today but unfortunately that's not the case. Hope everyone is staying safe & healthy!

In these uncertain times we want to let you all know we will be here and ready to go as soon as the border opens and it is safe to travel. Stay safe and healthy and hopefully we'll get to enjoy the fishing season real soon.

Hopefully by September, when Mike is scheduled to return, things will be back to a new normal and fall fishing will be great!

The weather has started to change here as of last week. Cooler days, more rain and wind, which means we had to change gears and figure out what those fish wanted! Fish fry night at North Caribou Camps

The eh team is back at er here at NCC for another season! Sean and I can't wait to see all of our amazing guests again this summer!!

Well, we capped our last day at North Caribou Camps in style! 9 pike over 40, biggest 431/2. Lots of mid 30 inch pike and about 80 incidental walleye. Just awesome.

Satellite image from today, the ice is out at North Caribou Camps! So it's confirmed we're going, but early season trips often present unexpected challenges, t...his time in the form of aircraft issues. Instead of Thunder Bay we're now flying from Pickle Lake. So when everyone arrives in TB we need to rent a couple of vehicles and drive ourselves to Pickle. Small price to pay for the privilege of fishing North Caribou shortly after ice out with the entire lake to ourselves. Honestly I'd drive a LOT further!! I'm flying into TB tonight ahead of the rest of the crew. I'm currently in a departure lounge at Pearson getting ready to board the plane. Let the games begin!

Slated to fly into North Caribou Camps this Saturday, and based on this satellite image from today it looks as though the ice is finally starting to go. Hallelujah.

First group of the season!! Can't wait to see what Mike can do with those ice out Northerns!

My group and I are slated to fish North Caribou Camps the first week of the season this year May 25 to June 1. We are in the private cabin, but as of right now ...the main camp is still wide open for that week which kind of boggles my mind! If you can put a group together for the main camp I'd love to see more anglers join us that week! The fishing for trophy pike will be EPIC! :)

We are still waiting for some warm weather here in the north but hopefully its just around the corner. We've had another week become available at North Caribou for 2019. August 24th to the 31st is open. This is a great week as we're starting into the fall fishing patterns. Those giant northern are waiting!!

Hope everyone survived the cold and snowy winter and maybe thinking about fishing this summer. We had a unexpected availability come up for the week starting July 13th.
