I was cleaning out the freezer this weekend making room for this years spring hunt. Since we had to cancel all of our hunts, I have decided that the kids and I will do some hunting close to home. The two oldest girls want to do spot and stalk bear hunts with their bows, I pulled out 3 bear hides that I hadn't got to from the last couple years of bea hunting. One of these was my daughters bear from last year. 6' 4" chocolate bear! This was a beautiful bear. I think I am going... to send it out to be tanned. One of the other bears was a bear Cody and I took while hunting elk in the fall. It was in a standing oat field. Cody tried calling it out with a rabbit call, but could hardly interest it enough to get it to lift it's head. Eventually, I snuck around to get closer and Cody walked out into the field to get it to move to the edge. To my surprise, I never saw it until it was less than 15 feet from me. I quickly pulled up the rifle and shot. It ran down the ditch full bore towards Cody, who actually had to scramble out of the way of the bear! It expired about 10 feet from where he was standing. We went and got the truck, loaded the bear and went home where we processed it. Yesterday, after I pulled this bear out fo the freezer and fleshed out the hide, I put a tape on it. turns out, this incidental bear we took squares out at 6'9"!! I think we are going to rug it and hang it up at the lodge. I hope you are all gearing up for the upcoming season. I know this has got me pumped. I think we are going to attempt to film some of the hunts this spring. IF we get some good footage, I will be sure to share.
Looking around in the potential new territory this weekend. Just thought I'd share a little bit of what you may experience while hunting with Northern Giant Adventures. We will be taking 10 bear hunters next spring. If you want to be one of them, don't hesitate to contact us and reserve your spot. These hunts will not dissapoint!!
I took the family out last weekend to check out a possible new area that we are looking at in British Columbia. Without a doubt, there are good bears in this area. This is a short clip of the first bears we saw that day. The camera is new and will take us a bit to get used to. I will post a few clips of us out bear hunting. Enjoy

Well, with the border closure, we now have some openings for our Spring bear hunts. We are going to take this opportunity to do a strictly Canadian, Corona virus spring bear hunt, fire sale!!! No more than 3 hunters per week. This gives each hunter their own room. We will work hard to make sure that the pandemic is the last thing on your mind! Think of it as 6 days of self isolation in a remote setting with no one around! If you have been dreaming of a great bear hunt with great people, don't hesitate to contact us!!!!
