Northern Lights Estate Winery is the most northern winery and largest fruit winery in BC. It grows fruit on five different locations, host multiple events such as wedding and offers the best view in town for its Bistro customers and employees. The winery is currently looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated, and goal-oriented individual to join our winemaking team. The lead cellar hand ...is integral to the day-to-day operation of the winery and will perform a wide range of tasks including. Responsibilities and Duties Fruit Processing: Handle fruit/juice deliveries, fill tanks Perform routine operation of pumps and filters to rack, transfer, and filter wine Fermentation Management: Inoculations perform chemical additions, nutrient additions, sampling, punch downs, sugar Collect wine/juice samples and general support for the laboratory Responsible for sanitation in all areas of cellar operation. Assist skilled cellar workers in various cellar operations. Supervise bottling crew and take part in the bottling line Read, understand, and complete paperwork efficiently and accurately Maintain a safe, clean, and healthful work environment at all times Participate in shipping and receiving of wine and goods. Job Requirements: A passion for wine and previous experience with winemaking either at home or in a winery. Strong commitment to quality with attention to details Candidate must be hands-on, dependable, and have scrupulous record keeping. Prioritize while able to adapt to changing priorities Good problem-solving abilities along with basic logistic skills required. Ability to understand and perform mathematic calculations. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Maintain an organized workplace. Ability to lift 40 lbs. This position is physically demanding. NLEW produces high-quality fruit wines that are leading the industry and attracting a focussed audience of Millennial and young Gen X wine consumers. Light up the orchard 2020 is canceled, it is with regret that we announce the cancellation of this years walking lights tour. Yesterday there was an extension of the provincial health order to January 8th. This will mean that we cannot host people to go through the lights this season. Ticket holders will be notified and refunded with the exception of platform and transaction fees that are collected by the processor online. All fees we collect will be returned via the method r...eceived. Please note it may take 7-10 days to receive refunds. Please consider using those funds to support local charities or local businesses as they have all been hit incredibly hard this year. We would like to thank all of our supporters for your words of encouragement and in particular to our staff who have put in thousands of hours planning and building these features.
