The province is sponsoring a study to compile internet speed/performance delivery based on actual experience rather than theoretical levels. It is to the advantage for rural communities, residents and businesses to contribute on the ground data to provide a basis for improvements to service. The study is being done by TANEx Engineering, the same firm that assisted the NRRM in creating it’s Regional Connectivity Strategy.

9-1-1 service is coming to the Northern Rockies at the end of January and we thought we would try and answer a few common questions that residents may have. If you have a question, please reach out to us on Facebook or email [email protected] yours just might be the next one that is featured! How much does 9-1-1 cost? The NRRM will pay $53,000 per year with an additional $15,000 start-up charge in 2021. This equals less than $2 per year for the owner of a residential property valued at $100,000.
With the number of cases increasing daily, it is vital to follow the Provincial Health Order suspending all events and social gatherings outside our households is extended until February 5, 2021 at midnight. Please follow all Public Health Orders and recommendations: Masks are mandatory in all public indoor and retail spaces in B.C. No social gatherings of any size with anyone other than your household or core bubble. This means no friends or extended family in your ho...usehold, no outdoor gatherings, no backyard gatherings and no playdates for children. Stay at least 2 metres (6 feet) from others in public. Give others space to keep their distance too. Avoid all non-essential travel. This includes travel into and out of B.C. and between regions of the province. We all need to continue to: Stick to our core bubble. Limit social gatherings to immediate household members only. This includes restaurant dining. Stay home if you have been asked to self-isolate. Remember our layers of protection: stay home when unwell, maintain physical distancing, wash hands and wear masks. Effective 2021, homeowners in municipalities no longer apply for the home owner grant through their municipal office. Everyone now applies directly to the province using a new online system that’s easy to use. The system will be available in early 2021. Although the application process has changed, program details and eligibility requirements have not changed. Important: Early applications are not being accepted at this time. To be notified when the system goes live, subscribe at https://buff.ly/38KGt14.

We are currently at work on a brand new NRRM website and we need feedback on site organization, to ensure that users will be able to find the information that is important to them in the place that they are looking for it. In order to collect feedback, we're using a survey tool (Treejack) that is able to track clicks that users make while they are looking for specific information. No personal data is collected and there are no wrong answers! The information collected will be used to organize material on our site in a way that makes sense to users ... like YOU. The survey only takes 5-10 minutes ... think of it like a computer game that will help us help you, it's even kind of fun!
