Pack it light, wear it right! . . . Whether it’s your little ones first time going to school or it’s their first year of high school, backpacks are essential BUT can be the cause of their neck, shoulder, and/or back pain in general! So what do we do to ensure we protect our body?... . . . #1 Your backpack should not weigh more than 10% of your body weight (ex. If your weight is 100lbs, you shouldn’t have more than 10lbs in your backpack) - PACK LIGHT . . . #2 Make sure you get a backpack that has wide padded straps and padded back to evenly distribute the weight and protect yourself from oddly shaped objects in the bag compartment . . . #3 Wear BOTH straps when walking with your back pack. We know it may look cool sporting a backpack on one shoulder, but trust us when we say that the long term effects on your body is definitely not worth it! . . .
