Me in a past life. And future life

Well I have a funny topic to talk about: Getting hurt while lifting! I've had quite a few major ones in my 10 years of training. 1. My biggest and scariest one was when I lost consciousness with 95 lb on my back This was my first year training and I was warming up in a squat rack. I put the bar on my back and it pinched a nerve and I blacked out instantly and fell. Thankfully I was using safeties which caught the bar at the bottom so it didn’t fall on me. Nothing serious ha...ppened so I continued lifting that day. 2. Also in my first year lifting, while overhead pressing 65 lb I hit my nose on the way up! It was the most pain I’ve EVER felt in my entire life. My face was in pain and my nose was numb for a month. I can laugh about it now 3. In 2016 while I was deadlifting, my nail got caught in my tights and ripped all the way back and blood shot every where. I didn’t notice the pain at first because I had to finish that rep and the adrenaline from deadlifts numbed the pain. As soon as I finished I saw blood just pouring out I almost fainted. My poor finger was in pain for a couple weeks and it took months for the nail to grow and cover the flesh I have long natural nails and that’s the only time I’ve had a nail related injury. I just don’t wear tights on deadlift days anymore. And yes I continued training that day because the pain from training was a welcome distraction from pain in my finger. These are my major ones. I’ve had lots of minor ones like dropping plates on my toes, fingers getting slammed between weights, the thin skin between thumb and index finger getting caught in various machine, walking face first into a barbell I get these a few times a year. The pain always lasts a few days and the bruises last weeks... but I’m so used to these they don’t bother me much anymore. How about you, have you had any of these fun injuries?!

I’ve always done my best work in (self-imposed) isolation. Now that I have proper equipment it’s time to make serious progress. 2 months of eat, sleep, lift, repeat is a bodybuilders dream.... This is my main silver lining in all this

Happy Friday! At least time’s going by fast. What's everyone's plan for the weekend?! Mine is to continue trying to have some sort of normalcy in my life. But who am I kidding. Life's been completely disrupted. I moved here in Feb with a plan and now who knows what's going to happen. Normal as we knew it is never going to come back. There's going to be a new normal when we finally get a vaccine. And it's hard to even predict what that's going to be like. Will gyms even exist?... Will any place where people are in close proximity exist? Will there be limits on how many people can be in one place at a time? Would I buy an RV and go live in a forest? I might There's one thing I know for sure and that's who I am and who I'll be in The New World. Good morals, values, passions don't change. Just gotta find new ways to uphold them!
