Nova Scotia Paramedics Union 07.11.2020

Happy Saturday everyone ... The IUOE727website goes 'live' at 11:00am today. Here are a few things that are important to consider. *How to get to the log-in page? Go to iuoe727.ca *When you are filling out the registration info, you MUST put your name in the 'user name' field as your full name with NO uppercase letters and NO spaces. If you name is Alex Dominick Smith ,, it has... to be entered as 'alexdominicksmith'. Entering any other user name will result in your application to register being denied. You cannot use nicknames such as Medic2435 or an acronym for a user name. *Registration approval has to be done manually by either of the two admins to the website. When the admins look at who has requested registration, they will consult the last (September 15th) Union Check-Off list to see if you are on it. *Registration is restricted to only those Paramedics who have paid dues on the last check-off list. (after you are approved and you have access, go to the posted articles and read the content. There is information there re paying per-cap dues on a go-forward basis to remain a member in good standing) *We know there are medics who have been off work, who should be permitted to register; so, if you are denied but are one who has not paid dues due to being off, contact Terry Chapman so that your web-admin can be cleared. *Because all members have to be manually approved, there may be a delay between requesting your application to the site and approval. The admins also have other duties and since the office is not usually open on weekends, approvals will be facilitated on a first-come-first served basis when the admins are available to log-in to the app site. *Please make an attempt to get registered ... this website will also be used to collect data that the union can build cases on to correct such things as worker fatigue, missed meals, delays in getting off duty etc. When those become available, it is important that you participate. Thanks, be patient and know if you have filled in your registration page correctly and you are a bonafide member, you will be registered. Terry Chapman and Sean Smeaton - Admins. See more

Brothers and Sisters, At 2:00pm today I attended the NSLRB Official Counting of Ballots to ascertain whether or not the Casual Employees of EMC Medical Care Inc. would be come Unionized Casual Employees. The official outcome is that by a majority, the votes cast and counted were in favour of becoming Unionized Casual Employees.... Going forward, the Union will work toward the process of negotiations for those Employees who have today been deemed Unionized Employees. Thank you to all who played a hand in this endeavour, and to those Casuals who cast a YES vote. I will be disseminating more information as needed in the near future. Congratulations. Fraternally, Terry Chapman BM Local 727 Note: Since I first mass emailed this, I am receiving calls and texts too many to keep up with. PLEASE be assured I will post a Q and A re this in the next few days ...
