I am a Firefighter - a frontline worker, and to be honest I don't need free pizza or free cups of coffee. I don't need money off vouchers etc. I am grateful tha...t I won’t be losing all my income due to this virus and as much as I greatly appreciate the gesture, please please please offer a free cup of coffee or pizza to the families who are struggling to feed their children, the older generation or self employed and to anyone else who is suffering financially from Covid-19 measures and are not covered by government grants or loans. To my colleagues past and present, please copy and paste to get this message out there !! Stay safe people

Why meal prepping sets you up for success and tips on ways to do it! Many of us aspire to be as healthy as possible, feeling energetic, and feeling good in our clothes. While setting goals to eat better may be simple following through with these goals can be tricky! While being busy in your day to day life, it’s always easy to say I don’t feel like cooking, let’s grab take out so let’s make an effort and be prepared! Take a morning each week and cook up some chicken, gro...und beef, fish, rice, potatoes, and always have frozen vegetables in the freezer. (I like to do this over morning coffee!) Does counting macros have to be boring? Certainly NOT! You can enjoy the foods you eat and make it fit. > For pure convience it’s always easier to have the meat and carbs pre cooked. You can spice em up anyway you want and still enjoy your meal! One more tip! You do not have to make meals where sometimes your food could possibly go soggy, you can cook and separate all your proteins, fats, and carbs into different containers to keep your food fresher for the week! Being ready and prepared is always the best approach when trying to fuel the body properly with high quality nutrients! #nutrients #nutrition #fuelforpeformance #eatmindfully #mealprep #macro #macrocounting #photooftheday #chicken #health @crossfitresurrection @nutritionwithkatie @katiie.rosss

Why would you want to eat sugar after an intense workout like the CrossFit open? Well carbohydrates are crucial for workouts! The energy provided by carbs is known to be quicker and more readily available than what’s offered by your proteins and fats! ... Carbs provide your body with a backup supply of energy called glycogen, therefore a MEASURED amount of something sugary and sweet is perfectly suitable. Fast digesting carbs. Please understand CARBS are what support your energy system! In saying that I do honestly believe the best option will always be whole foods full of micro nutrients example rice, potatos, pasta, etc. This is flexible dieting, understand it’s okay to treat yourself but remember candies do add up quickly- always check that nutritional label and log before you consume #crossfitopen #candy #postworkoutmeal #treatyourself #flexibledieting #macrocounting #maynardscandy #sourpatch #nutritionalcoaching
