"We are excited to announce that Miranda Smith has joined the Ottawa Gloucester Hornet's Soccer Staff" Miranda is very well known in the Ottawa soccer community as she grew up playing in Ottawa. She started her competitive career with the Hornets before moving to different clubs within the Ottawa area. She participated in the provincial program from u14-u16 and became part of the national training center at u17 - including participating in the 2013 Canada Summer Games. Mira...nda attended the University of Memphis for 3 years as a member of the women's soccer team while studying journalism. She then transferred home attending University of Ottawa as a member of the women's soccer team, graduating with honors in communications. During that time, she was part of the 2018 OUA championship winning team, the 2018 USPORTS National Championship winning team and the 2019 JingJiang University World Cup Winning Team. Most recently, Miranda was playing professional soccer in Finland with TPS women's team. I've been looking to get Miranda involved in our club for some time now and happy to have her part of our Hornet family. Miranda will be assisting with communications, media, etc. and we hope to add her to the soccer side as well in the future as we continue to look to add inspiring females to our staff. Ottawa Gloucester Hornets Soccer (OGHS) are proud to announce that MARYSE VIENNEAU has officially committed to Concordia University for 2021. Concordia Stingers, Montreal Quebec, play in the very competitive RSEQ division of U-Sports. Maryse is currently a member of our U18 (2003) Regional Girls as well as our select only Hornets Showcase Program. "We are very pleased to see Maryse's commitment to Concordia. She has worked tremendously hard in improving her technical skill...s, finishing and game understanding. NEW COACH ANNOUNCEMENT We are very excited to announce the addition of SOPHIE CURTIS to our coaching staff! Sophie is youth Hornet graduate who then went on to play at University of Ottawa for 5 years, graduating with her Masters in Education. During her time at 'uOttawa' she won 2 OUA Championships, 1 bronze National USPORT title and 1 USPORT National Championships in 2018. Sophie has has been coaching in Ottawa for over 8 years, most recently with the successful group... of 2005 girls. She also coaches the sport etude program at Franco Cite where she is also a teacher. We are thrilled to bring in another female coach and positive role model for our female athletes. Sophie is not only a Hornets youth grad (and still currently plays Hornets with our Women's Program) but joins us with first hand experience knowing what it takes to be successful at the University level. Sophie comes highly regarded in our soccer community and again, we are extremely excited to have Sophie as part of coaching staff at Gloucester. NEW COACH ANNOUNCEMENT: We, Ottawa Gloucester Hornets Soccer, are pleased to announce the coaching addition of Yassine Mallah. Yassine, born in Paris France, has a deep rooted passion for football (soccer) including: playing since age 5 as well as semi-professional in France. He moved to Canada in 2010 and has since turned his commitment to coaching. He holds a C License Certification with aspirations to get his Provincial License. Yassine has experience coaching with ag...es U9 to U18, most recently with FC Barcelona Academy. For the 2020/21 season, he will be working with our 2010 Boys. "We are very happy to add Yassine to our coaching staff as he came highly regarding from our own coaching staff. He has a wealth of experience within the game including a culture and passion for 'soccer' that he is keen to pass on.
