This week we rolled our sleeves up and got to work planting garlic! After separating the cloves, everyone was planted 1-2 inches in our prepared bed, then the back of a rake was used to gently cover them all up. Follow-up to saving cucumber seeds. I’m clearly not a YouTube star!

The Sal Army garden is being harvested and it looks like autumn. We have been able to give out hundreds of pounds of veggies to seniors, volunteers, visitors, ...daycare children, and food bank clients. CoVid certainly put a cramp on our ‘senior’ volunteer number, but they have told us that they cannot wait to help next year... and for now are loving the workshops. Three 1/2 months ago, there was just rock ledge and some growth from clear-cutting where this beautiful garden sits today. See more

Harvest day!! Yesterday we picked corn , tomatoes , turnip, beets, lettuce , Swiss chard, and kohl-rabi!! What a busy day at the garden!!!
