Some members of the Oliver Fire Dept. are participating in an Auto Extrication course this weekend. Learning new techniques and skills. Rest assured that if called to action, our firefighters have the very best training to get the job done! Good job guys, keep up the good work!

Last night we got to officially welcome our newest apparatus. Tender 182 is the newest addition to our fleet of emergency vehicles. A lot of work was put in by our Truck Committee members in order to fine tune and direct the project to meet the needs and vision of the OFD. A lot of work was also put in by the teams at Munckhof Mfg, Rapid Industries, and Jeff Muller of Oliver Car and Truck, to see this beast become reality. ... This new tender will service our area by helping us to deliver 2000 gallons of water supply to scenes throughout our area. This unit is outfitted for supply, but will also be utilized for attacks on structure and grass/forestry fires. As is tradition, our crew welcomed this 26,000 pound baby by pushing it into its new home, by hand. Big thanks go out to the many people that made this project happen.

Kids have been back to school now for just over a week and we have heard of a few close call incidents involving cars blowing past school buses and not stopping. It does not matter if a school bus is in your lane or the opposing lane, you must STOP! Remember, these are not just our kids. They are your kids, your neighbor's kids or even a family members kids. Even emergency vehicles have to STOP! So should you!
