Today a Hamas terrorist murdered 26-year old Eli David Kay in cold blood - and seriously wounded 4 others in a shooting in the Old City of Jerusalem, near the Kotel. Hamas hailed the shooting as a ‘heroic operation’. The 42-year-old Palestinian terrorist, a resident of East Jerusalem, was neutralized by police, preventing further deaths. ... Kay, BDE, was a recent immigrant to Israel from South Africa. He worked as a tour guide and lived in Modi’in. Kay’s murderer is being lauded today as a hero in the West Bank and Gaza - and his family will now be rewarded with a pension for life by the Palestinian Authority. With heavy hearts, OneFamily welcomes the loved ones of Eli David Kay to our circle. May his memory be a blessing. .. . . . . #terror #grief #israel #jerusalem #bde

We are so proud of Enav Melamed on the release of her first single, The Avenue!!! Enav joined OneFamily in August 2014 after her father, Shahar, was murdered when a mortar from the Gaza Strip was fired onto their Kibbutz, just minutes before the ceasefire agreement of the 2014 war. Enav witnessed the tragedy. She is an incredible young woman who has been pursuing her music career which has now finally taken off full force! Enav travelled to Canada several times as part of our OneFamily-Camp Timberlane program and every year would perform her music! We wish her only success in her career and send love from her family in Canada! #OneFamily #music #KibbutzNirim @enav_melamed @camptimberlane

It’s not every day that the Prime Minister of Israel posts a music video including One Family’s survivors of terror and bereaved families, but today was that day. https://vimeo.com/486982258

On Sunday, December 20, 2020, Esther Horgan, a mother of six from Tal Menashe went for a run and never returned. Her battered body was later found in the popular Reichman nature reserve. Esther zl immigrated from France over 20 years ago. She was known as a happy, smiling, artistic and exceptional woman who worked as a couples counsellor and artist in her community. OneFamily representatives paid a Shiva call to the Horgan family to show solidarity, support and to let the...m know that going forward OneFamily will be there for all their needs. Many of the bereaved families already within the OneFamily system, shocked by this brutal murder also visited the shiva to express their condolences and show unity to the newly bereaved Horgan family. May the family be comforted among the mourners of Zion and Jerusalem and may Esther’s memory be a blessing. BDE

Today is the official day of Recognition and Appreciation for Victims of Terror and Wounded Soldiers in Israel. 19 years ago, Lauren Bloom, a new immigrant from France, suffered the unimaginable when he was injured in a terrorist attack that changed his life forever. His strength and him being able to overcome his day to day struggles is truly rewarding for us to witness. From the moment that Lauren arrived at the hospital, OneFamily has been by his side, supporting him an...d giving him strength. Lauren’s journey, his family that he built with his wife and their three beautiful children is very inspiring. Since the day of the attack. Lauren has been fighting for hope and life that most take for granted. Every day but especially today, we need to take a moment and express our appreciation for people like Lauren and the thousands of others, for whom life is an ongoing and daily struggle. OneFamily is their shoulder to lean on, and their hand to hold, because we are always by their side. We help them believe in a brighter and better future. We will do anything to help them continue to fight and not give up on themselves. Thank you for being who you are, for your strength, hope and faith. You give us the strength to continue our work. . . . . . . . #terror #survivor #ptsd #love #courage #israel

Today Nava, OneFamily's Caseworker / Coordinator for Israel's Central District paid a visit to Baruch Ben Yigal, the father of Amit z"l. Baruch showed Nava some of Amit's belongings and shared stories of his late son. Amit z"l was 21 years old when he was attacked and killed on May 12 of this year (during the pandemic).... OneFamily stands by his Amit's family, and those of other victims of terror, helping them in every way we can to overcome the loss, the trauma, and the void that can never be filled.
