#FeatureFriday Meet Syed. He has been working at #onehealthclubs Oakville for 2 months now and has been working as personal trainer for about 3 years. He is a certified CanFitPro Personal trainer specialist, Darby training systems level 1, fascial mobility training, striking fundamentals and is currently taking precision nutrition. At One, he is focused on weight loss oriented goals and loves hypertrophy and strength training. Syed’s favourite things to do in the gym are s...uper sets. I love pairing exercises back to back to not only increase intensity but to add efficiency in short timed workouts. His hobbies include lots of sports (hockey, soccer and volleyball), playing guitar and studying as he is always looking to improve himself as a trainer. We asked Syed why he loves being a member of the ONE team? I am learning and growing as a trainer everyday here and there is a real sense of community in this gym that I have not seen anywhere else! I am loving being part of the ONE family Please help us share a warm welcome as one of our newest members to the team #ONElife #oakville #intro #bio #success #friyay #gta #friday #fitspo #train #gym #trainhard #goals #fitness #strength #strengthtraining #fitnessjourney #health #healthylifestyle #career #personaltrainer #trainer #community #body #instagood #motivation #flex #fitfam See more

#FeatureFriday My name is Jackie Feenan, I am 65 years young and have been a member of #onehealthclubs #oakville location since Dec 2012. Lisa has been my trainer since Sept 2018. My personal trainer Lisa @lissawood and I have so much fun as she tests my abilities to lift weights, push iron, hold planks and do endless sit-ups! I like the commitment of setting aside the hour to go to the gym and push myself and know I am in safe hands doing the moves properly. It is hard to believe that for what she puts me through I still enjoy my personal training sessions so much. Want your fitness journey to be highlighted on our page? Love your personal trainer and want to give them some appreciation? Comment below or reach out to one of our personal trainers so we can showcase why you love ONE #ONElife #successstory

Spinning is long known to decrease fat and help promote a higher resting metobolic rate In fact, its so effective that research has shown replacing one bout of moderate intensity exercise with two 30-minute sessions of this high-intensity workout can improve everything from your cardiovascular health to your body composition ... Spinning is an All-in-one exercise Spin classes are usually divided into four types of exercises: speed, endurance, power and combination, which are scheduled throughout the week on different days and at different times. This allows you to integrate all the important aspects of training into your weekly fitness regime without having to switch equipment or ask the regulars for help (all the time). For best results: mix it up! This way, boredom cant touch your fun workout Class highlight- Thursday morning spin, 9:00am with Cathy at OAKVILLE See more

5 reasons why everyone should do YOGA Not only can yoga make you more flexible and reduce stress, it can also make your body strong. ... Were always hearing how core training is crucial for building strength, and essentially it all comes down to balance. Yoga balancing poses build deep core strength, improves joint stability, strengthens neural networks that control coordination, enhances body awareness, improves agility and reaction time, and builds stamina and perseverance. The result of the neural and muscular adaptations improves movement efficiency. Essentially you can create the same amount of force with less effort. Here are 5 reasons why everyone should do Yoga: Yoga integrates muscle groups to create overall, functional strength Sustaining yoga poses increases muscular endurance Yoga focuses on building strength in the core stabilizer muscles of the abs, obliques, lower back and pelvis Yoga can reduce muscle soreness following intense weights sessions, and give your muscles, joints and bones time to repair and grow Lifting weights is inherently competitive, whereas yoga is reflective and develops self-discipline Demonstrated by One Health Clubs Member and Brand Ambassador, Sarah Fig

YOGA Pose of the Week: Half Lord of the Fish Demonstrated by Oakville Member Debra Greenwood Stay supple in your yoga practice with twisting asanas. Tone the belly, massage your internal organs, and relieve lower back pain in this seated yoga pose. ... The BENEFITS of this pose include: Stimulates the liver and kidneys Stretches the shoulders, hips, and neck Energizes the spine Stimulates the digestive fire in the belly Relieves menstrual discomfort, fatigue, sciatica, and backache Beginners Tip: In this version of the pose, the opposite-side arm is wrapped around the outside of the raised-leg upper thigh. This may be impractical, and potentially harmful, for beginning students. Be sure to sit up well on a blanket support and for the time being just wrap your arm around the raised leg and hug the thigh to your torso. #ONEyoga #onehealthclubs
