Good morning! Thank you Georgina for all your support. Ive been running into customers who are going through the same issues while dealing with contractors and the trades. General Contractors are asking for deposits before the the jobs are starting, & then they are not showing up. It seems the ones who are showing up dont have the experience and/or the licences. My heart goes out to these homeowners and I want to give some tips and advice, so this dose not happened to anyon...e else. Here are some tips: 1) Dont give a deposit until a percentage of the work is completed, contractors and the tradesmen should have accounts at suppliers.( Small jobs) 2) When hiring a licensed trade- ASK to see their license. 3) Good trades KNOW other good trades.. Ask for recommendations. 4) Handy men- are just that, handy men. Unless they are a licensed trade they should NOT be touching plumbing, electrical or HVAC. I have heard horror stories in my travels.
