Images received today by the Museum President from the UK. The sword presented to the 14th/20th King's Hussars Museum and Association is now on display in the United Kingdom: "It was discovered in Canada and presented to the museum by Mr Alan Duffy as a symbol of friendship between the Ontario Regiment and the 14th/20th King's Hussars"

From the Museum Gift shop Library: Designing the T34 Museum Executive Director has a closer look at the titles available in the Gift Shop Library. We are working to ensure our library includes hard to find titles about RCAC and Armoured History. Many of these are only available in Regimental Kit-Shops or at CFB locations. Expand your Canadian History library with these great titles, a "must have" for any Armoured History enthusiast or Historian. This is a very difficult ...time for museums around the globe. On this day in 1917 (20 November), the Royal Newfoundland Regiment and Canadian Cavalry Brigade take part in the launch of the massive Commonwealth attack on Ca...mbrai. Labelled The Great Experiment, the attack foregoes the typical artillery bombardment, and instead relies on advanced surveying and range-finding to launch a sudden furious barrage at the hour of attack. Trundling into this are nearly 300 tanks, followed by infantry deploying aggressive fire and movement tactics. The next major offensive on the Western Front was now underway. Losses were heavy for both the Newfoundland Regiment and the Canadian Cavalry Brigade; total Third Army losses were over 40 000 killed, wounded and missing. By the night of November 29, the Newfoundland Regiment had only 8 officers and 230 other ranks left. The Battle of Cambrai lasts from 20 November 7 December 1917. Image: British Mark IV Tanks of ‘C’ Battalion, including ‘Crusty’ and ‘Centaur II’ loaded aboard a train at Plateau Station in preparation for movement to the forward area prior to the opening of the Battle of Cambrai.
