Ontario Breeders Production Sale

Some more pictures of what we've been up to lately! A new puppy! New babies in the family, both 2 legged and 4 legged!!! Lots of driving, riding and everything in between. We are going to try and post more often! We have some great young horses that we'll be posting pictures of this spring. And we invite anyone with a horse from us to share. We'd love to hear from you!

Gracie's 10th ride! Iris has been the only one on Gracie so far and she's doing an amazing job. Can't wait to see these 2 out and about this year.

Message from Barb and Orchard Park Stables.........Although not long since the last OBPS sale, the time has passed quickly and allowed a disconnect in communication. So here is an update. Two little granddaughters take time and precedence to the delight of a very proud grandmother! Ponies are being raised and trained to perfection for our up and coming riders! Can't omit my farm family that show up to ride and school our young horses. Iris Giffin with her family, has been a ...part of Orchard Park since before she was a twinkle in her mom's eye. She and I have successfully started a few homebreds together and are excited to start showing the latest project. David, Natalie, and Brayden have joined our forces since, as U of G students, are handy both in distance and ability! Chad and Al are up to elbows in construction of Chad, Karri, and Charlotte's house, Jodie still managing Shopper's Waterdown store, selling real estate, being mom of Lilly and wife of Jason, and Callie helping run Orchard Park with me and driving our dear 'Priscilla'! Chad hops on horses when needed and time permits, Al, a great partner and support, starts some of our babies. Karri, busy with baby Charlotte, and announcing a new arrival in July of a sibling, starting a new job and still riding and training her coming 4 year old! Jason has taken over our puppies when we have them. And Lilly? Well she is grandma's left hand. Charlotte is in training riding with daddy. And me? Still raising a few babies, horses that is, climbing on and off the tractor feeding the masses, and loving when people drop in to see and talk about horses. The greatest satisfaction I have is watching the horses I masterminded and successfully raised go forward with their new owners. The best ever is to get a ribbon with a homebred horse and a 'homebred' rider!!! Best of 2020 to all and may health and happiness follow each and everyone! P.S. Greetings for 2018 to all of you from all of us at Ontario Breeders Production Sale and Orchard Park Stables. It has been a busy year so far. Chad and I took OPS Rapson to Aiken, SC to suss out the eventing world. We saw lots of great venues and had successful schools over many courses. Rapson, a homebred Irish Sport Horse Stallion, is showing promise as an eventer. We will post his progress and show results. I will be doing an article on the Irish horses I have raised and so...ld, and would like all of you that have or had one, to send us pictures and testimonials to be included in the article. Please help us do this by reaching out so we can all stay connected. Inventory at Shady Maple Farms, Hawksview Farm and Orchard Park Stables is at an all-time low. To run a sale, we need approximately 30 prospects to allow us to choose the top 20 to present to you as bidders. As we don’t have the numbers, we won’t be able to run the sale for 2018 and possibly in future years. Our apologies for making this decision so close to sale time. We’ve been trying to make it happen but the numbers just aren’t there. This is definitely not the end for Ontario Breeders Production Sale; it is just a new direction! We are excited for what the future holds and will continue to produce horses that we are proud of. Steve MacKay, Valerie Williams, and I have limited stock available for sale privately.
