County Tuck Shop is intended to be a co-op type "convenience" store with as many locally made products as possible while acting as a hub for foodpreneurs/ start... ups of handmade products (household items, lost artisan skills), provide competitive pricing on convenience store products and comparible locally made versions and perhaps grow into more.Yes, it is still in the conceptual phase but I think it will act kind of like The Nooks/ Hermas. Either, by rent shelf space that is maintained weekly by you or a space within the shop manned like a small scale shared market so the overhead is shared amongst all vendors not just yourself if that makes sense. It provides a community environment/support/ knowledge and the ability to rent commercial kitchen time too. See more

The Pandemic and Food-Preneurs When serving the community goes beyond expectations. Our friends at Sharpe's Food Market, in Campbellford, have been doing exactly that. ... In this time of crisis, they have incorporated measures way ahead of anyone else: Special hours in the morning for seniors and those with immunocompromised health, placed acrylic shields to protect cashiers, they post almost everyday important items they have in stock and schedules of when some will be delivered, placed a handwashing station with soap at the entrance, placed signs on the floor to mark safe social distance while queuing at the cash registers, deliveries of groceries and called volunteers to serve our most vulnerable with deliveries and help, and on top of all this, they helped some small business in the area selling their products. Not only kudos to the Sharpe Family but to all their front-line operations. Not all superheroes wear capes! Sharp’s Food Market has been awarded for several years as the best Independent Grocer in Canada. Now they have won a much special place within our community’s
