OFPA Board of Director Spotlight: Board of Director Greg Vallee I’ve been part of the OFPA for 20+ years dating back to my time as a Food Science student at the University of Guelph advancing from a student member to sustaining corporate member to board of directors. Having been on the BOD for the past 5 years, I started off leading the membership committee and have since transitioned to the golf tournament committee and sponsorship committee. Being a part of OFPA has bee...n a critical part to my career development as the membership and technical events create a platform to keep abreast of industry and regulatory change while networking with food safety professionals. There have been some exciting changes with the association in recent years with some energetic and knowledgeable professionals joining the board bringing new ideas and a fresh look to the technical events. Be sure to check out the spring virtual event on April 15, 2021 this will bring an engaging way to interact throughout the event making use of the Kumospace platform. Some great speakers and agenda topics as well! New this year, we’ve got a social networking mixer scheduled for September 23, 2021. Hopefully we’ll be able to get a golf tournament in this year in June though that is still to be determined amidst the pandemic. Fall Food Safety Symposium and AGM will be another great event to check out scheduled for November 18, 2021 really hope we can get this one in-person so we can get back to seeing familiar and new faces.
