Credentials Work Both Ways Obtaining and marketing an industry credential can be the best money you’ve ever spent; however, if the credential has little credibility, it can be the most expensive piece of paper you’ve ever bought. During depositions, all attorneys seem to relish asking questions about your credentials. Because internet postings never vanish, that may include certificates you didn’t maintain. Experienced attorneys will ask you about each credential and expect... you to explain what it means within the industry. And then, depending on which side of the case you represent, they will probably proceed with attempts to destroy or embellish your professionalism. Make no mistake, the credentials you hold will directly reflect how your credibility will be perceived during the deposition. As some are aware, I also own and operate Great Canadian Home Improvements and this rant also applies to the renovation business as well as the Mould Inspection industry. I was in Scotland, Ontario on Saturday and did a Mould Inspection for an Awesome elderly couple who were smart enough to recognize a "Douchebag" competitor of mine. He quoted them $800.00 to tear out a unsubstantiated mouldy wall. The wife was obviously hindered medically and this "Douchebag" was going to ma...ke the house much more intolerable to live in. He did not plan to do anything within the bounds of PROPER PROTOCOL..... NO CONTRACTS, NO CONTAINMENT, NO AIR INFILTRATION.......NOTHING DONE PROPERLY!!!!!!! PLEASE FOLKS!!!!!!!! If your gut tells you a contractor is a douchebag......He most likely is!!!!! Please excuse the language, but people like that infuriate me to no end!!!!

I have recently been asked to quote a remediation job in London. I have no issue with quoting jobs, (it's what I do and I do it well!) The problem is that my competition will quote the same job for free and not do an inspection..... this is a shady practice and should not be done.... REASON: What if the home does not actually need to be re-mediated at all, (this happens a lot.) OUTCOME: The customer pays a small fortune to get the house re-mediated for no reason and the remediation company profits a small fortune. Therefore. If you or someone you know does not want to be taken to the cleaners by a big shady remediation company and want to get an honest inspection....Ontario Mould Remediation is who you need to call!

I have been asked this more than once recently. New homes don't have mould problems do they? Answer: Of course they can and often do. Mould does not care if a home is new or old, small or large. Mould just needs moisture to propagate the lifecycle.... Actually a new home with it's tightly sealed doors and windows is more likely to start growing mould once a moisture problem begins. Older, more drafty homes are more likely to cause moisture to dry up before mould has a chance to take root.

Another reason why Air Samples are crucial ! After the re mediation is complete we take Air Samples again to confirm the clean up was was done effectively. If there is mould spores in another part of the building we need to know.... was it there all along or is it there because we messed up? ... Without the preliminary air samples, impossible to know for sure. This is also called "Due Diligence"
