CHRISTMAS KETTLE UPDATE With Guelph, moving into Red level as of Monday, December 14, the traditional Christmas fundraiser will now operate predominantly online... at www.guelphsa.ca/donate The Salvation Army is committed to prioritizing volunteer and donor safety and has pulled all volunteers from our physical kettle locations effective Monday, December 14. The Christmas Kettle Campaign will now be a mix of physical and virtual initiatives. www.guelphsa.ca/donate is now this year’s go-to donation station and allows donors to give through their mobile phone or computer. The physical kettles located at Stone Road Mall, Guelph and Fergus Zehrs stores, Guelph Walmart stores, and Guelph LCBO locations will remain available with TipTap pay options in place. Donors simply tap their debit or credit card to make a $5 donation. Multiple taps up to a total of 10 taps allow donors to increase their donation. Just like the traditional physical Christmas Kettles, all donations made at www.guelphsa.ca/donate will be invested in the local community so that local support is extended and upheld.
The pandemic has taken it's toll on many things this year, including local Food Banks. No one should go without food any day let alone during the Holiday season. The Guelph Optimist Club donated $5,000 in hopes to help restock their shelves in time for Christmas. If you can help out during these times of need please visit https://guelphfoodbank.ca. https://www.guelphoptimistclub.org.... Merry Christmas
For the past 3 years, our members in the Guelph Optimist Club have participated in the Guelph Shoebox Project who in return help Guelph Women in Crisis. This year they have moved to a virtual shoebox due to the current pandemic. The Shoebox projects goal every year around the holidays is to ensure Woman who flee unbearable conditions at home. With barely the clothes on their backs at times, this program gives them a helping hand on their new journey to a fresh, safer way of ...life. Simple things that we all take for granted like; toothbrushes, hairbrushes, deodorants, toothpaste, shampoo, ect. With the help of our members, our President was able to present Justine from Woman In Crisis with a $500 donation this year nearly tripling last years donation from the club. If you can spare $5,$10,$15, please donate. https://www.guelphoptimistclub.org/about https://gwwomenincrisis.org/ https://www.shoeboxproject.com/guelph.html https://www.facebook.com/guelphshoeboxproject/ #shoeboxproject #happyholidays2020 #Guelph #GuelphProud
