Barry notices that you can feel separated from everyone when working from home, but it also lets him be much more flexible when talking to clients or other team members. Chats over coffee wont just naturally happen, you have to plan them with people. It can be a bit weird to get used to, but itll keep you connected with others.

Wellington County is entering stage 3 today, one month after entering stage 2 in June. Neither pandemic nor heatwave will stop Andrew from making the most out of a situation on that work from home flex. Working from home offers him the ability to move his workspace to wherever suits in the moment. Whether in the home office, at the standing desk that doubles as the kitchen countertop, or on the back deck in the sunshine, Andrew is nothing if not adaptable. One way that he keeps motivated while working from home has been to space out the day beyond the standard 9-5 to allow for some midday downtime. If quiet moments at 7am or bursts of productivity at 7pm get more done and allow for an afternoon walk in the park, everybody wins.

In 2016 Huron Construction was starting up and OSIM built a clean, simple website to highlight their Agricultural, Residential and General Construction services. The website focuses on explaining services, showing pictures of jobs well done and a call to action for helping site visitors get in touch with the Huron Construction team to ask questions and learn more. As the snow melted in 2018 it was time to grow Huron Construction and OSIM turned to Google Ads to spread the wo...rd about this great and growing company. With ads running on the Google Display network and Google Search network within a one hour radius of the Huron Construction headquarters at the corner of Minto and Howick, the leads and jobs came in quickly. In January of 2019 it was time to grow again, however this time there was already lots of work booked for 2019. This time the goal was to recruit some top employees to the team. After some attempts with Indeed and Newspapers, Justin and his team reached out to OSIM to see what we could help with online. We put together a strategy that included a landing page for new positions and a form to apply. We then promoted this on the local Live and Work website in Minto (which includes the Indeed job feed), Facebook Ads and Google ads display network in an hour radius of the Huron Construction headquarters and within a few days they had contacts flowing in. Three new team members were added and this campaign, planned for a month long, was ended earlier than initially expected thanks to quickly achieving its goals. After maintaining some Google Ads campaigns for market presence, Huron Construction has kept growing. For the time being they have reached capacity and continue to add new projects to the website and leads keep coming in. Google Ads are now used to fill in gaps in the construction schedule when needed or until its time to grow again at Huron Construction! Not being tied in to annual contracts for their Google Ads, and making adaptations with a flexible budget, has allowed Huron Construction the ability to choose when to advertise and how much to spend at the right times for maximum results. http://huronconstruction.ca/

OSiM is excited to welcome another addition to the crew: Tom Hartl. Tom moved to Harriston 2 years ago and started working at OSiM in the role of Web Developer at the end of May. Tom began programming in Prague in the 80s with a slight detour through music and film before returning to programming in Toronto. ... He traded in his hobbies for none of them could compete with the enjoyment of writing clean, logical code. We are happy that Tom found his way back to programming and onto our OSiM team!

Katrina began as an intern this spring and is now working with us as our Social Media Content Creator and Junior Web Developer. Most of our crew is still working from home, so its important to find ways to feel like the same close-knit team we always have. Since lockdown started, we transitioned our monthly game night to a weekly digital affair, but the team lunches have been missing. This week, however, we were treated to a delicious surprise. Thanks to Glens home delivery service, every member of our OSIM team got to share in an assortment of eclairs yesterday afternoon.... Luckily, someone with a little more forethought than me was able to take a photo before their desserts were devoured. My photo was of an empty box, a telling indication of how irresistible we found these incredible confections by the talented Chase Foerter.
