This weeks Tiny Tuesday is all about baby Guinea Pigs. Baby Guinea Pigs (pups) are beyond adorable because they are born completely precocious. This means that when they're born they are fully formed, functional pigs- just in miniature! Their eyes and ears are open, their teeth have erupted, and they can walk within minutes. These sweet little cavys will only nurse for about 2 weeks and are weaned at 3. By only 4 weeks of age young boars (males) are starting to think about breeding! Guinea Pigs are such fun little characters, who really don’t get enough credit for being great pets. Drop a photo below to us your piggies!

The most handsome sphynxes, Turtle and Baloo, were in for their yearly exams today. Even if you're an indoor cat, like these two are, it's important to have yearly check-ups. Feline Friday fun-fact: A lot of people assume that having a hairless cat is easy-peasy because they don't shed all over your furniture, but that's just not true. Without fur, the skins oils gather often leaving hairless animals with blackheads and discolouration. These boys are so darn gorgeous because they get regular baths and ear cleans to keep their skin healthy.

The cold weather can be hard on our senior pets with aching joints. As quality care and veterinary medicine advance we are seeing our pets live much longer than in previous generations. As more pets reach an advanced age we are learning just how much arhritis effects them and their quality of life. This is exceptionally common in large breed dogs and surprisingly, cats. Is your dog slow to get up from their bed? Is your cat no longer jumping like they used to? They may benef...it from supplimental joint care to keep them comfortable and moving freely. Many owners report a significant improvement to their pets overall happiness and quality of life after beginning a mobility suppliment. Our favourite suppliment is Flexiden Plus which strengthens cartilage and prevents deterioration of joints. If you have questions about which product is best for your pet, chat with our pharmacist or Michelle.

Happy Feline Friday! Did you know that most cats prefer to drink from moving water? Providing a fountain or trickling tap can be great for your cats health, espcially for senior cats. In the wild cats drink very much water because in they receive most of their hydration from their prey. Domestic cats on the other hand, who primarily eat kibble, don't always receive enough hydration. Adding a fountain can help increase your cats water intake. Many cats enjoy pawing at and play...ing with the water (and licking it off their little toes), others are attracted to the movement of the water, and all cats prefer water that is fresh and away from their food bowls. Increasing water intake is great for cats overall health, but is especially good for the kidneys. As kidney disease is a serious ailment for many cats, extra support for the kidneys can help keep them happy and healthy well into their senior years. See more

Happy Tiny Tuesday! Olga is a delightful rabbit who was spayed last week. Spaying and neutering rabbits is very important as they are highly prone to reproductive tumors.
