Brand Ambition 14.11.2020

Do your clients and followers feel like they are a member of your COMMUNITY? This is something we have done some soul searching around. Though we are very active on social, we weren't sure if it felt like we were building a community. So we brainstormed some things we could do with our social to make you and followers like you, FEEL engaged, invested, and a part of something bigger.... (In case you're wanting to do this on your own account, here's some ideas we had that you can also integrate) 1. Ask more questions. Encourage those comments and feedback from the group. Post more polls and have people vote on things to share their perspectives. 2. Showcase OTHERS on our feed. For example, although we are always showing off new brands, we want to share more about how our clients are succeeding in their businesses AFTER their rebrands. 3. Encourage more user-generated content. Solicit images, stories and wins. 4. Talk about shared goals and values. We want to show people what we have in common. 5. Use more words like "you", "us", "the community". 6. Create a community hashtag and encourage others to use it. Do you have any other tips for creating feelings of community among your followers? Feel free to use any of these suggestions, and plan to make "growing a community" one of the tasks on your social feeds over the coming weeks! We want to hear from you!

So proud of our Senior Designer, Ali who custom illustrated the tractor in this Bragg's Farm logo. (And that font choice is pretty impressive too!) It feels great to see our team's work go out in the world, on signage, print and web. We are super grateful to be able to have this impact in our area. Thank you to the Bragg family for the opportunity to work on this project.

Use your social to educate your clients about your consults or your sales process. What does it look like? What will they get? Give them a window into the experience so they can appreciate the value you offer. (And make sure you pair that with a STELLAR photo, like this one for Stonehouse Staging )

Question: Would you collect your own eggs? I have a story I tell in my social media workshop about how I began following a farmer on Instagram who shared video in her stories every morning. I so enjoyed watching as she collected chicken eggs. Its a dream of mine to have chickens and I love the vibrant yolks of (really) farm fresh eggs. This image made me wish for that experience. That's what good imagery, good video and good social can do. It turns the commonalities of you...r life into human interest stories. They turn followers into fans. (They drive random urbanites out to rural co-ops asking to order brown hens. ). This beautifully rustic shot was taken at Bragg's Farm and we can't wait to use this and many other stunning shots on their new website as we make their business into an inspiration for their clients.

Ah sweet simplicity. Eyes need SPACE. It's a long running joke among designers that clients always want everything to be BIG. Make the logo bigger, make the tagline bigger, make the headlines bigger, make the phone number BIGGER! But if everything in your marketing is BIG it means nothing is standing out. Nothing is important and all the content is fighting to lead.... Designers learn a lot about "visual hierarchies" and how the eye decides what to read first second and third. And if everything is big, the eye is most likely to just move on. Take the time to understand why your designer has pitched a design the way they have. They may have cut content, or made an image larger because they know it's going to add strength and impact to your project. If your marketing looks like a hoarders closet, get some help, and trust the process.

Sunday's are for being at home, and home is easier to be at when it's this beautiful. We've shot a few projects for the ladies over at birchviewdesign and we are so inspired by the openness of their design, their attention to detail, and the peaceful environments they create for their clients. Its some very lucky people who get to be stuck indoors for a few weeks with a brand new kitchen.... This calls for some sourdough bread from scratch!
