Did you know nearly 100 years ago, C.G Johnson invented the upward-acting garage door and transformed the way we view homes and buildings?

A typical garage door moves up and down a lot in a given year and with all that motion, it's common for hardware to become loose. Occasionally check the brackets that hold the door tracks to the wall, ceiling and hinges that hold the door panels together.

A well-maintained garage door should be relatively quiet and move smoothly. If your door is making jerky movements or loud, scraping noises, there may be an issue with the springs, rollers, hinges, pulleys or cables. Remember, with any maintenance repairs that require a professional, contact our office.

To extend the life of your door and opener, make sure you lubricate all moving parts. Not sure what lubricant to use stop by and grab a can at our office.

If your garage door is not correctly balanced, the garage door opener will have to work harder and will likely soon need to be replaced. Test this by pulling the release handle on the automatic opener then manually lift the door so it is about halfway open. If the door stays in place without your help, then you're good to go.
