Good Afternoon, As per the announcement and changes announced today Winnipeg has been moved to Code Red. There is some uncertainty with the terminology used as to where we fall and have reached out to MGA/Sport Manitoba for clarification. We will notify all as soon as we hear prior to Monday when the restrictions take effect. For this weekend classes will run as per usual but be reminded that Saturday being Halloween there are no classes after 3pm. To clarify this point, an...y classes that start before 3pm will run for their full duration and those classes that start at 3pm or later are not running as outlined in our handbook and calendar. Again, we remind all members to ensure they are completing the Daily Self Screening found on the homepage of the website every day that your child attends class. This is our best tool to assist Public Health should contact tracing be required. Please ensure that you are maintaining 2m from others when entering or exiting the building and that masks are required for all (exempt young children per MPH) and the children can remove them while participating. We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for doing their part in keeping Panthers Gymnastics a safe a space for children to stay active and have some fun and normalcy in these challenging times. If we are required to close for the two weeks that was mandated today, we will follow the Class Cancellation and Covid guidelines as outlined in the Panthers Handbook located in the Members Portal. Please see the below statement regarding the City of Winnipeg increasing measures against COVID-19. This will not effect Panthers programs as masks are not required during physical activity and out coach’s have been wearing masks already. Sport Manitoba COVID-19 Update: Sport Partners (from the office of CEO Jeff Hnatiuk) Manitoba's public health officials will be elevating the #RestartMB Pandemic Response System level for the Winnipeg Metropolitan Region to Restricted (oran...ge) effective Monday, Sept. 28th. As of Monday, masks will be mandatory in all indoor public places public gatherings will be restricted to 10 people, both indoors and outdoors. The Province has provided us with the direction that at this time, the maximum occupancy of 10 people indoors and outdoors and the wearing of masks does not apply to those actively engaging in athletic or fitness activities. It is of critical importance that all Provincial Sport Organizations and members continue to follow their Return to Play plans and protocols with emphasis on the fundamentals to help stop the spread of COVID-19: ~Stay home if you feel sick ~Wash/sanitize your hands, cover your cough and physically distance when you are with people outside your household ~If you cannot physically distance, you should wear a mask to help reduce your risk ~Reduce the number of close contacts outside your household, and avoid closed-in or crowded spaces As soon as we receive additional updates from Sport Manitoba and the Province of Manitoba, we will keep you informed.
