Paramedic Memorial Bell 25.12.2020

#ParamedicMemorialBell spent some time with the people of the United Counties of Prescott-Russell. Thank you to Jean-Phillipe Héroux for taking the lead. Our profession is in good hands with young medics like you stepping up to help educate our peers about our shared history. Take a bow, young man.

Kawartha Lakes, thank you for caring for our profession's Memorial Bell while in your hands. We also recognize that by shear coincidence those tragic events happened when the Bell arrived. We wish strength and love to your members, the allied agencies involved and to your community in this time of continued healing.

The handoff from Ornge Toronto to Durham Region happened yesterday. Thank you to Brenda Parish for taking possession of our profession's 'mobile monument' This is a good time to remind everyone that the Bell is best rung be swinging the lanyard backwards. Everyone has taken great care of our Memorial Bell however it wasn't really designed to be used so much. Continue to use the Bell in your local ceremonies to the Fallen and use caution when swinging the lanyard. Suggest...ion: do a practice session prior to your ceremony. Let whomever is assigned to toll the Bell get a few warm-up swings from the sidelines ;) We never figured that the Bell would be sent around all over Ontario like it has this year. Everyone has shown such pride in hosting it. The photos and videos you have captured are amazing. Keep them coming. We have plans to produce a documentary about the 2020 PMB Tour. If anyone has suggestions or a professional contact willing to work for free, please share.

Hastings-Quinte Paramedics just finished having their turn hosting #paramedicmemorialbell. With much gratitude we want to thank Mike Foley for taking the Lead . He formed a core group who looked after our Memorial Bell taking it from Sandbanks in Prince Edward County all the way north to the fringe of Algonquin Park. Your photographer, Autumn Belnap accompanied the Bell's movements taking beautiful and meaningful pictures. Thank you H-Q for your participation and engag...ement in the Bell's journey. Good job getting your local media's attention. This is wonderful public relations for our profession. (Note): there is a small error in the article. The Bell Journey actually kicked off on May 28 with Essex-Windsor Paramedics. https://www.intelligencer.ca//bells-tour-honours-fallen-pa

Dear followers of this page and the #paramedicmemorialbell journey: We are delighted to share with you a video that Peel Region Paramedic Paul Carson-Work has produced. We have spoken frequently with Paul over the past couple weeks as he advised us that he had wonderful plans when our Memorial Bell reached Peel Region. We are running out of words to thank Paul for his outstanding dedication to honouring Canada's Fallen civilian and military Paramedics So, thank you again Paul, and with our deepest gratitude.

Photos courtesy of Paul Carson-Work. Sadly, many of the Fallen inscribed on our Memorial Bell are combat medics and Search and Rescue Technicians. From the Canadian Legion https://www.legion.ca/remembrance/remembrance-day... The Act of Remembrance They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old; Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning We will remember them. We will remember them.
