Parenthood Fitness and Nutrition 12.02.2022

Hey all! I hope you are all enjoying the holidays. As the year 2021 comes to an end, have you thought about your goals for the upcoming year? Something you'd like to try or improve? If not, that's cool. It's been a crazy year so I don't blame anyone for shutting off their brain so that they can try to relax a bit. If you HAVE thought about your goals for 2022, drop them in the comments. I am always here to help you with achieving those goals, whether it be getting back to ...exercise routine or with improving nutrition habits. Hey everyone, please meet Dominique Demore who recently graduated from my Strong Mom program. Big congratulations on your results as I know it wasn’t easy while taking care of your 4 month baby who had trouble sleeping :( . You should be very proud of yourself and what you accomplished :) Here is what she had to say about her experience in the program. Before signing up for the program I was afraid I would fail or that the program would be too regimented for my new life ...as a mom. Jason was able to make me feel at ease and normalized my "new" lifestyle and he helped me dial back and appreciate the small victories. My initial goals when starting the program were to lose weight and to generally feel better. With Jason’s help I was able to learn proper postpartum exercises, how to properly portion my meals for my goals, and to not be so hard on myself. I was also able to increase my water intake, improve my mental and physical health, lose some inches and get stronger. For those looking to start the program I would say that Jason is very attentive to your specific goals and needs and makes sure you feel at ease, even on your not so good days. I suffered a back injury which set me back with my exercises, but Jason continuously encouraged me to get my rest to recover and to focus on my nutrition, which really helped minimize the stress of not being able to exercise. August was a whirlwind of being sick, taking care of the kids, family vacation, and FINALLY getting on my new meds, which I still can’t believe has happened. Adele has finally started in-person school :D I’m still on pat leave for a few more months with the little guy but I have a bit of breathing room With this extra breathing room, I'm making more space for taking on new clients. For those of you who may not be aware, my Strong Mom Program (Fitness Coaching, Nutrition Co...aching, or Fitness & Nutrition Coaching combined) is a 12-week program that provides safe, family-friendly, do-at-home workouts and healthy habit coaching that can easily be included in your hectic schedule. Baby Carrier Box Squats for the multi-tasking mamma who wants to get some exercise in while her baby sleeps and drools all over her. You can use the edge of your bed, couch, or a chair to perform these... Brace your core. Breath out when you stand up. Make sure your knees are tracking over your toes. Repeat as many times as the baby will allow :P

Here is a great core exercise that you can practice while your little one is on their play mat. Your free arm can be used for tickles. Although, if you can do that, you’re probably ready for a harder exercise :P Let me know how this works out for you in the comments. Cheers!

If you feel like your eating habits have been out of control over the last year, and you want to break that cycle, journaling what you eat throughout the day allows you to become more aware of your eating patterns. If you increase your awareness the much easier it is to change those patterns. You can either write it down in a physical journal, take notes on your phone or take pictures. Either way, it makes you stop and take a moment to think about what you’re eating.

Give your some love today with this exercise. You can do this with your little one right beside you OR place them on your hips (safely) for a bit of an extra challenge. Do 10-12 reps for 3-4 sets. Give this a try and let me know how you did in the comments. Enjoy!
