Last week, Paper Excellence posted on May 5th to bring awareness to the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls (MMIWG) Red Dress campaign. Paper Excellence is committed to our journey towards reconciliation with Indigenous Peoples. As one of the steps along that path, we are recognizing May 5th as a day to bring awareness to the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls (MMIWG) Red Dress campaign. #MMIWG

Traditionally, public commemorative ceremonies for the Day of Mourning are held across the country. However, due to the COVID 19 pandemic, many in-person ceremonies have been cancelled. A moment of silence will be shared on April 28 at 10:30 a.m. at https://www.dayofmourning.bc.ca/ to recognize the 151 B.C. workers who died in 2020 as a result of workplace injury or disease. These acts of remembrance help to honour the lives lost or injured due to workplace tragedy. #DayOfMourning
