Penderosa Cottages has updated our website to include the Pride flag in celebration of #loveislove and Pride Month! We also have added the #BlackLivesMatter symbol to speak up against racism and our stand against any form of intolerance and discrimination against our Black community!

We are excited to get ready for our first guests on Saturday July 4! Due to Covid we were not open in June but so happy to welcome our regular guests and friends to our beautiful property in a few days!

Update - SUMMER 2020 We hope everyone is staying safe and well during this challenging time! Due to public health and safety restrictions because of Covid-19, Penderosa has remained closed for the entire month of June. With the announcement of the Atlantic provinces bubble, we will open to our first guests of the summer on Sat. July 4. Guests who are booked for cottages this summer from NB, NS, NL or PEI will be able to keep their reservation and stay at Penderosa as original...ly planned. There has been some indication by the Atlantic premiers and PEI government that the Island could open to other regions of Canada, such as ONT and Western provinces, as early as July 17. However, this is yet to be confirmed. The USA-Canada border remains closed to non-essential travel until July 21, with re-assessment at that date for extension or lifting of this closure. Currently we have the following openings for July 2020 (as of June 25): #9 (2 bedroom): Sat July 4- Sat July 11, $1300 /week + taxes (based on 4 persons); #6 (3 bedroom A-frame): Sun July 5 - Sun July 12, $1300/week + taxes (based on 6 persons); #6 (3 bedroom A-frame), Sun July 12 - Sun July 19, $1700/week + taxes (based on 6 persons); #10 (3 bedroom), Sun July 12 - Sun July 19, $2000/week + taxes (based on 6 persons); #10 (3 bedroom), Sun July 19 - Sun July 26, $2000/week + taxes (based on 6 persons); Please email [email protected] if you are interested in any of these openings. We were very happy to celebrate our parents Austin and Ethel Pendergasts 69th anniversary recently! They are almost 94 and 92, and doing pretty well! They enjoyed having a great group of close family help them celebrate, including moms sister Mary and brother Greg, 6 of their children, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren! Many of our long term Penderosa guests know Ethel and Austin very well, as they ran the Penderosa for most of its 50+ years of existence! Happy Anniversary Mom and Dad!!

We hope everyone is safe on the East Coast following Hurricane Dorian. Unfortunately one of our historic A frame cottages at Penderosa has suffered significant damage in the storm. We are very thankful no one was injured, which is the most important thing. We will let everyone know what is happening going forward when we know. Take care!

Summer season is upon us!! Excited to see all our amazing guests and friends very soon! After lots of hard work by the Penderosa team this past month: Spring cleaning is done, grass is cut, repairs being done ...and to top it off Ethel and Austin were at the beach to help get the flowers planted in the pots for all the cottages. Always fun to have Mom and Dad with us!

We still have an opening during peak season this coming July 14 - 21 in #8, a 3 bedroom upstairs unit of our large duplex building. Penderosa was started in 1965 by Austin and Ethel, and they are still around! Today helping plant flower pots at Penderosa with four generations of our family working and laughing together for over 53 years now! And they are pretty sharp still at 90 amd 92!

It's been an amazing summer of sunsets at Penderosa ... Mother Nature in all her glory!

Hot off the press pics of the newly renovated A frames with new decks competed, railing and siding installed with stain going on... New dishwashers to be installed tomorrow! Wait till you see the views from the new decks!!

Railings on decks are going up, new siding still yet to be installed and then landscaping! Exciting!! Wait until you see the VIEWS from both the lower and upper decks!

This large duplex building is a fully renovated older building, which was formerly the Darnley (PEI) Community Centre Hall. It was renovated in the early 2000s into 2 x three bedroom funits; lower (#7) and upper (#8) flats. Each flat has three bedrooms with a full bathroom, washer/dryer, and dishwasher.
