We are officially done fundraising for our Pilot Cycle!! Thanks to your generosity and solidarity, we raised approx $28000* for the Pilot Cycle of the People’s Healing Fund! In response to the global pandemic, we quickly redistributed $13200 of the money raised through our Emergency Fund to Black, Indigenous, and POC healing workers, body workers, and sex workers, many of whom were barred from government supports.... We are now moving into the next phases of our Pilot Cycle: redistributing the remaining funds, gathering community feedback to inform our next cycle, and taking a pause to learn, reflect, and celebrate. We appreciate your ongoing support! Any funds raised from today onwards will go towards seeding our pot for our fall cycle. A special shoutout to our contributors who signed up to give monthly and weekly - this ensures the sustainability of our project. Now more than ever, as we see the workings of colonial capitalism laid bare, we need economic redistribution and solidarity projects. Check out www.sharemycheque.org to connect with other mutual aid funds and grassroots orgs. Stay tuned for more updates from us. Wtih love and solidarity, People’s Healing Fund Collective . . *final numbers forthcoming. . . . These testimonials are from recipients of the Emergency Fund We redistributed $9100 in our first 2 Cycles and are currently accepting donations for Cycle 3. Help us raise the remaining funds we need so that we can give out another $5000 or more! Link in bio to donate. . . .... Cycle 3 of the Emergency Fund began on May 1st and applications close on Friday May 8th. Funds will be redistributed the following week. Working class BIPOC healing practitioners whose work has been adversely impacted by the pandemic are welcome to apply to the fund. Link in bio to apply. . . . We are particularly interested in supporting BIPOC healing practitioners living with disabilities, whose living expenses may have increased as well. The application process is designed to be quick and simple, and each cycle will close after we reach capacity. . . . Please note that due to the volume of applications, not all applicants are guaranteed to receive money. Qualifying applicants will receive $100 each in the week after applying. Folks who received money in previous cycles are able to apply for Cycle 3, but may not apply more than once in a given cycle. . . . All funds raised will go directly into the hands of working class BIPOC healing practitioners whose work has been impacted by Covid-19. Many of us are out of work with bills to pay, or doing more free/low-cost work than is possible for us. This money is for a quick infusion of cash. . . . This fund is open to people regardless of immigration status. Healing comes in many forms and includes body workers, sex workers, and more. . . . Are you receiving a salary? Are you resourced enough to share your cheque? Do you have access to a trust fund, family inheritance or disposable income? Now is the time to share the wealth! Remember, for our movements to thrive, we all need access to healing. @ Toronto, Ontario See more
