An old story links the discovery of yogurt to a traveler who was carrying milk in a goatskin pouch. The perfect combination of heat and timing transformed the milk into a creamy substance- yogurt. There is no comparison between the quality of homemade yogurt and commercially made yogurt. Slight variations in timing and temperature produce varying degrees of sweetness or sourness.

The discovery of salt has its roots in Persian folklore. As the story goes, King Bahram, a skilled hunter, was enjoying a kabob feast after a zebra hunt. He dropped his kabob on a white stone near his feet. The taste of the meat was slightly salty and delicious. He ordered that the white stone be ground into powder. Some say that this was the discovery of salt.
