"An oncoming Silverado pick-up truck loses traction in icy road conditions, crosses the centre line and smashes head-on into an oncoming car, a Chevrolet Cobalt. The impact occurs entirely in the oncoming lane. On the face of it, it seems like a cut-and-dried case of negligence against the driver of the Silverado." Follow the link below to read more!

Safety alert! Common avoidable crash - the left turn in front of stopped traffic. You're wanting to turn left. Oncoming traffic is stop and go, and grinds to a halt, kindly leaving a gap for you to turn through. You appreciate the gesture, wave and hustle through.... Just as you're completing your turn an oncoming vehicle zipping along the clear curb / HOV lane comes out of nowhere and crashes into the passenger side of your vehicle. You didn't see the curb lane driver coming because the stopped traffic blocked your view. The curb lane driver didn't see you either, for the same reason. The left turner can avoid this type of crash by being mindful that even if two oncoming lanes come to a complete stop leaving a gap for you to turn there, there could be a motorist in the clear HOV/curb lane coming. Turn only to the point of that lane, then creep until you can see the lane is clear before completing your turn. The curb / HOV driver can avoid this type of crash by being mindful of the possibility of cross traffic in a backed up traffic situation, especially when the next two lanes have left a gap at an intersection. It might be an oncoming left turner, or it might be a pedestrian. Approach that hazardous situation with hawkish caution and at a speed that you can avoid a crash if something comes out in front of you in your lane at that gap.

I may be the least likely person on the planet to be supportive of ICBC. I typically have ICBC in my cross-hairs, taking aim at what I consider the unfairness in the way it handles crash injury claims, particularly when the claimant is unrepresented.
ANSWER: The financial losses of fatality claims are reimbursed. For example, if the breadwinner of a family was killed due to negligence, there would be financial losses to claim for. To better understand the value of your potential claim, it is important to seek the free initial consultation with a lawyer
