People say ewww. No fern please. That stuff is everywhere. But I say - YES to leather leaf. It is expensive since hurricanes flattened the hoop house farms in Florida and the crops are still regenerating. It is as expensive of some of the lesser known greens. But it is a sustainable green and a crop that feeds many greenery farmers families and their staff. In all my years of floristry, why have I never purchased one of these things? Its a game changer for applying topical foods and water treatments! My Rosemary has died and gone to heaven with her regular and easily applied misty showers. Floristry friends out there in the world who follow me on my page. Go get some of these things and put water, CG and flora-life topical treatments in them. This week for @hospice.gt and @cgmhfoundation Beautiful whites or whites and yellows. Quick notice - Petals has limited flower availability until October 8th. I am still making the fundraiser flowers, but additional orders need advance notice. My cooler had a bit of a malfunction because my roof had a massive leak - over top of my cooler. Leak is fixed, but I am praying Clarksburg Mechanical has a cancellation. The earliest they can get to me right now is October 7th for th...e cooler repairs as a result of water damage. I WILL be open for Thanksgiving - and I am taking orders already for the holiday. Thank you for your patience. If you need flowers and you know it is for an upcoming birthday or anniversary, please try to order in advance so I can bring product in carefully, and so I can find what your recipient (or you) likes best! Thank you so much as always for your support and business. This is just yet another hiccup in this old house. Let's all pray it is the last hiccup and the end of fixing things here.

With these chilly evenings coming in hard and fast, I have been preparing the B&B over the flower studio for ski season. Let's face it. It's coming. Luckily I love it.

Made up my own recipe tonight which turned out AMAZING! 1 small puffball cubed into 1" pieces 1 small onion chopped small 3 large garlic cloves minced... 2" chunk of ginger skinned and minced 1/2 tbsp coconut oil 1 tsp fish sauce 1-2 tsp sambal (depends on your spice capacity. Add less if you prefer - or more if you enjoy heat like me!) 1 tbsp miso paste (I used a blonde variety) 1 can coconut milk 1/2 cup peanut butter 3 cups 90C water 1/tsp sugar Juice of half a lime. Garnish: Sliced spring onions and picked cilantro. Could add sliced red chilis and a creamy boiled egg if wanted. Saute the onion garlic and ginger in the coconut oil until almost translucent add fish sauce and stir. Add puff ball and let brown slightly. Add 1/2 cup water to pull the brown bits from the pan and cook another couple of minutes. Add coconut milk, remaining water, sambal, miso, peanut butter and sugar. Stir until the peanut butter is melted. Add lime juice at the very end. Serve over rice noodles or I used rice vermicelli. Garnish with the greens and a slice of lime. Divine. Isaac now loves mushrooms. Well. One kind of mushroom...

Flower deliveries feel just like Christmas for me. They arrive as a surprise, and then I get to unwrap them and marvel at their beauty while feeling so excited to play! Then, like every Christmas there is cleanup... But the smiles as I ship them out bring me back to joy. This colour pallet is just SO YUM!!!

#making. I am a maker of visual interest. I love anything that brings the natural earth elements inside, to remind us of the amazing life outside four walls we call shelter. ... If it is plants, flowers, wood, moss, clay, pebbles, sand, pinecones, sticks, bark... You name it, I am fascinated and look at it as an element of #make. I am currently working on a #vessel rental for a #Canadiana decor home. There is Tiffany glass, warm cozy rugs, pillows and throws, the odd loon here and there. And a hearth, where I imagine are many roaring fires and hot cocoa on a cold snowy day... This will be for the table. With mosses, pinecones, ferns and hosta leaves. I also believe that whatever flowers or plants are brought into a home MUST be representative of the home. Modern - needs modern but sometimes earth. Rustic - needs rustic but sometimes light, glass or metal. Masculine - needs a hint of feminine Feminine - needs a hint of masculine. Heavy needs air...
