Petawawa Community Garden plots available Are you interested in growing your own vegetables? Need some fresh air? We have gardens plots in the following sizes, 15 x15, 15 x 30 and 30 x 30 feet available in the Community Gardens. The gardens are fenced-in.We have all the equipment needed including hoses, shovels, rakes wheelbarrows & compost. If you need advice we can... probably help. Our Garden operates under rules for covid-10 as mandated by the Health Unit, Town and Province. Did you know there's hundreds of millions of organisms in one square meter of healthy soil? If you're intrested in learning about how to nurture the biodiversity of soil or just get an idea of how it all works, here is a Free workshop hosted by Dr. Elaine Ingham. She is a leader in soil microbiology and research of the soil food web.

We've been busy planning events for this year. Please help support your local Horticulture Society, by becoming a member or volunteering. We look forward to seeing everybody this year. We suggest downloading the app or program prior to the meetings. If you create your own FREE account it will be easier to join in. There will be two opportunities to practice getting on the meetings. A few members from the Society took advantage of the warm sunny weather and planting crocus down by the catwalk with the Town of Petawawa. Now to wait and see what happens in the spring

Perennials and House plants will be available tomorrow at the FALL PHS PLANT SALE: Saturday, Sept 26th from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm in the parking lot in front of Looking Glass Toys and Games at the Petawawa Market Mall. CASH ONLY BY DONATION in the jar at the end of the line. Memberships will also be available on site. Residents are asked to follow the line set-up and respect physical distancing from others. Produce will also be available, see you then!

Mondays general meeting (Sept 14th) has been postponed. We are hoping to be able to hold Octobers meeting. Information will be passed along once we can confirm.
