Hello Facebook friends ,wanted to remind all of our clients and friends to shut off your outside faucets for the colder nights ahead. It’s going to be a busy year and M&j plumbing is taking resumes for a water treatment specialist as well as an experienced plumber ,also looking for a carpentry/renovator person to assist us with our clients smaller bathroom projects. If any of our facebook fans know of anyone that may be able to help please tell them to email us at [email protected] These are not entry level positions.

Sometimes the ninja turtles can get in our way and cause plumbers troubles. I wonder what ninja turtle would decide to mess up someone’s sump pump? Lol the turtle survived btw.

Your old cast iron and steel drainage piping likely looks Like this on the inside, M&j plumbing has powered drain cleaning equipment to treat many problems but often replacement is the best option. Older homes and piping won’t last forever but we can help keep things flowing down the drain ,be very cautious using liquid plumber and drain cleaning products as they may do more harm then good in certain situations. Cool old van pic for attention Here’s one of our old service vehicles from simpler times it was sold to a gentlemen in Bancroft many years ago ,I wonder if it’s still around? ... In case you were wondering Friday is upon us .I challenge our Facebook friends to consider supporting small local business, as I was driving this week I couldn’t help but notice the Costco line up and walmart to name a few locations with large line ups. No offence to these stores they are certainly doing great things helping all through these times , but financially they are ok. Is the small business down the road ok ? What small business can you support tomorrow ? pre order at a French fry truck ? An online order at a smaller clothing store? A part for your lawnmower ? A part for your car or truck /motorcycle A gift certificate at your favourite restaurant Or store. The list goes on as many local businesses are adapting to rapidly changing mandates. And literally changing the way they do things day by day. Do what you can and let’s help ourselves! By helping our neighbours and friends. This pandemic has affected so many and with little effort and thought you can really help them through these crazy times. The smallest of a gesture is better then the biggest intention. Stay safe everyone ,the sun was shining today make it a great day tomorrow.

Adapting to different times. Hello Facebook friends, we hope you and yours are well during these crazy times, over the past few weeks our remaining employees have been working hard tending to urgent issues in homes and businesses , and projects that were underway ,we have found that our clients are understanding in maintaining distancing efforts while we work onsite and everyone has been respectful .We are all adapting to life as we know it, M&j plumbing will continue to do w...hat we can to help so please give us a call should something come up. Also if you are a do it your self kind of person we have the items you need and can help you through the repairs and provide competitive curb side pick up options. Some of the larger retailers in the area have quite the process in getting items so if it’s a plumbing part or even a new toilet or faucet let us know and we will do what we can to help ,delivery on larger items is available as well . In response to the escalating situation surrounding COVID-19, we want to inform the community and our customers that we are taking the situation very seriously. As plumbers we have to attend many different homes and businesses as an essential emergency service. Examples of this include no water, sewage back ups/blockages and flooding to name a few. So please be understanding should you see our trucks or other essential trades driving by (Electricians and HVAC Personnel for ex...ample). Our priority is our employees and their families safety as well as you our customer during this unprecedented time. We have a small crew remaining and these employees have agreed to perform work on emergency only service calls. We have Increased PPE, distancing efforts and screening of every situation before we attend. Strict in office and onsite efforts for screening is mandatory. In an effort to reduce social interaction please note the following has been implemented immediately: - our office is closed to the public -please do not approach our service vehicles - electronic forms of payment only by e-transfer/credit cards Should you require advice or materials to fix your plumbing issue yourself - we will do our best to accommodate. ANNOUNCEMENT To all of our clients and Facebook friends please take a moment to check that your sump pump is working properly today .With the weather the Peterborough and surrounding areas are going to see this weekend it is not going to be good. - make sure the discharge pipe exiting your home is free and clear and not obstructed - ensure the the pump is functioning properly ... - always a good idea to have a temporary back up pump with some hose in your home, Home Depot or home hardware as well as Hitchons pump house and Norms cash and carry all have small utility pumps that they sell . A small utility pump and some hose can cost approximately $150 and could save you a lot of grief. -M&j plumbing has secondary back up systems available for install as well as options to notify you of a problem if you are concerned . With the colder weather starting to settle in ,be sure to remember to shut off your outside faucets.The faucet in this picture is a freeze proof type however we still recommend to shut them off when not in use .
