I wrote this article a few years ago. Nice that Threads has combined the pattern with other tips on pant and skirts.

One of my prized possessions is a Butterick dress pattern from 1908. It's made for a very small size, has a close fitting bodice, a high puffed sleeve crown and a full skirt. It's clear that in those days, a sewer would have to know how to sew and assemble because there are no pattern notations printed on the tissue or instructional guide sheets included.
