GROOMING DECLARED NON-ESSENTIAL EFFECTIVE BOXING DAY 2020 We have just been informed from our pet industry group that has been in contact with the Ontario Government informing us that the section of the Essential Workplace Legislation that had allowed grooming to operate (even in grey zones) has been replaced with a modified section. "On December 26, 2020, section 23 of Schedule 2 to the Regulation is revoked" ... it was replaced with new wording that stipulates Pet Groomers... cannot be open during the lockdown period. We will be reaching out to clients with existing bookings to reschedule. We are not taking any new appointments for after lockdown until we get our current appointments rebooked. Watch our page for more details on our reopening of the salon and how to book. Thank you for your understanding. We apologize about having to close the salons.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT ABOUT THE CITY OF KINGSTON ANIMAL CONTROL BYLAW REVIEW PROCESS UNDERWAY NOW...TIME SENSITIVE The City of Kingston is seeking input on a number of proposed provisions to its Animal Control Bylaw. New provisions are being considered to regulate exotic pets, per household pet limits, standard of care requirements, and leash-length requirements. Kingston currently does not have a per household pet limit. Your Pet Valu Kingston Franchisees, along with membe...rs of Kingston’s Advocates for Responsible Pet Ownership (KARPO), oppose the implementation of a household limit. This type of bylaw, aimed at controlling nuisance complaints, hoarding, and related issues, has not been proven effective in other jurisdictions and fails to recognize the underlying causes of these concerns. A household pet limit would arbitrarily penalize responsible pet guardians, burden shelters and rescues that rely on foster volunteers, and may lead to animal abandonment and suffering. We are firmly opposed to the establishment of a per household pet limit. We encourage you to complete the survey to ensure the City’s approach is based on community feedback. If you have a love of dogs and at least 1 year of grooming experience, including the ability to groom all breeds, great scissoring skills, and have a calm, patient demeaner with your four legged clients then this could be the perfect opportunity f...or you. Our stores have a large client base already established. We have three locations in Kingston feeding clients into our grooming salons which helps give all our groomers a steady, reliable base of pet owners to draw from. GOOD NEWS! Our Self Serve Dog Washes are open. Booking Link is Below...but please read the following....no walk ins....... For sanitary and safety reasons you must reserve your slot. Bookings are for 30 minutes only to give us time to clean and sanitize in between clients. We will only be opening 1 tub in each store for now. Due to social distancing there is a limit of 1 person and 1 dog in the dog wash during your time slot. We are only allowed a limited number of people in the store at a time so we must restrict the dog wash to one family member only. When making your reservation please read the complete description of the 30 Minute Dog Wash you are are booking. Unfortunately, if you are late we will have to deduct that time from your 30 minute allotment. Please do the brusing ahead of time. We are asking clients to just use the Dog Wash for the quick baths but do the heavy grooming at home.
