Having fun today playing with some twill

The warmth of wool and mohair combined with the sheen of fine linen came together beautifully to make this elegant, soft and flowy scarf. The yarn for this scarf was some I hand spun last year and finally got to weaving it last week.

Winding Through the Margarees From sheep to shawl. It starts at Rural Roots farm, a small family farm overlooking the beautiful Margaree River. Ben LeBlanc has sheared his sheep and the fleece of some Cheviot sheep caught the eye of Valarie Grosman, a dyer and spinner from Belle Cote, Valarie bought the fleece and in her studio L’lie au Belier she prepared, dyed and spun it into a lofty Indigo blue yarn. On a visit to Valaries studio the yarn then caught my eye so home it came with me to my weaving studio The Pick and Twill in Inverness. There I wove it into a cozy, warm shawl and called it - Winding Through the Margarees- paying homage to where it originated, a small farm overlooking the beautiful Margaree river.
