We’re sorry to announce that the summer day camp has been cancelled this year

Pihtokwe Campsite 16.09.2020

Welcome to the Pihtokwe Campsite Facebook page. We will be posting upcoming events, promotions, and updates here! We have full service ($45/night), power ($35/night) and non service ($25/night) sites. The Metis Multicultural Youth Society runs the campground. All profits go back into the community. In past years we have donated to Santa's Anonymous, student scholarships, school field trips and travel costs, funded Aboriginal days, and community events with supper and music! We are excited to continue assisting our community and helping out with events! Thank you everyone for your support and we look forward to having you camp with us!

Fun Fact! Plantains were and still are used to treat bug bites, stings, and sunburns. So next time you're camping and are in need of relief, find a plantain, chew it up and place on the infected area. (Always use discretion when identifying and using wild plants. Never eat a plant you do not know).

Pihtokwe actually means "come in" in cree! It is pronounced pee-toe-kway for future reference. I know it's not an easy word to say. Hope this helps!
