We’re sorry to announce that the summer day camp has been cancelled this year
Welcome to the Pihtokwe Campsite Facebook page. We will be posting upcoming events, promotions, and updates here! We have full service ($45/night), power ($35/night) and non service ($25/night) sites. The Metis Multicultural Youth Society runs the campground. All profits go back into the community. In past years we have donated to Santa's Anonymous, student scholarships, school field trips and travel costs, funded Aboriginal days, and community events with supper and music! We are excited to continue assisting our community and helping out with events! Thank you everyone for your support and we look forward to having you camp with us!

Got caught in the rain a few times this weekend! But for the few that braved the weather, we enjoyed some breaks of sunshine . Looks like it's going to be nice this week without rain until Sunday
We're excited to have Shannon and Olivia out tomorrow to share about how to use essential oils while camping! Lavender infused lemonade will be served and you'll get to make some fun essential oil blends to take home!
We would like to give a huge THANK YOU to all the volunteers from the Metis Multicultural Youth Society Rebecca Petrie Chelsea Berger Linda Prentice Wanda Schiller Olivia Thebeau Rojeau L'hirondelle, Norma L'hirondelle, Heather Slade, Judy Meronowich, Mary Ann Evenson, and all the other volunteers who came out on Tuesday to make the ECDC day camp a success! There were multiple activities for the kids including bannock on a stick, story time in the teepee, teachings of the talking stick, a nature walk, and foot print casts for the kids to learn about animals in our forest. And of course a big thank you to the ladies from Vermillion energy that cooked lunch for everyone that day! We wouldn't have been able to pull it off without our volunteers and for that we are so grateful!
Fun Fact! Plantains were and still are used to treat bug bites, stings, and sunburns. So next time you're camping and are in need of relief, find a plantain, chew it up and place on the infected area. (Always use discretion when identifying and using wild plants. Never eat a plant you do not know).
Hey everyone! We are having a make your own bug spray class this Saturday! Everyone is welcome however there is limited space so if you want to attend make sure you grab your tickets right away! Get more info on the event page here.
Went out mowing the grass the other day and found this beauty of a fort! Take a look at that architectural master piece! Haven't seen one like this for awhile! The kids must have been having fun! #letsgocamping #outsideadventures
ISO the owner of this water bottle and Frisby. They were left at the playground this weekend. If you're the owner or you know who they belong to, the items will be held at the campground office for pickup.
We're so happy to see people come camp with us and sad to see them go. We met lots of wonderful people this weekend and enjoyed seeing the kids playing in the park and the adults relaxing around the fire. Always happy to share our space with everyone! Safe travels home and we hope to see you back again soon!
Doing some yoga and exercises on the workout portion of the playground this morning. Having fun while getting a workout! Yvonne Fausak Kuchta Thank you for sharing your photos!
It's probably time to go camping!

Pihtokwe actually means "come in" in cree! It is pronounced pee-toe-kway for future reference. I know it's not an easy word to say. Hope this helps!
