Spotlight Saturday Ella She has a great sense of humour (which is a helpful skill to have when it comes to dealing with horses) - Ella is this week’s spotlight! Here’s what she had to say about her experiences:... l started riding with Robyn at the beginning of 2017 when I was in Grade 8; I’d gone to riding summer camps a couple of times before, but never actual lessons. I started on Ramzi, then rode Briggs for a while, and two or three years ago I started leasing Chicago. I’ve had a ton of fun riding the past couple of years some of my favourite memories include falling off of Digger three times in one lesson on the polo field, holding on to Chicago for dear life during trail rides when the club was closed for COVID, and somehow breaking my collarbone after a cross rail. Even though I hated the spiders in the showers, the past two summers that I’ve gone to shows have also been amazing. We’ve mostly done 0.75m and 0.85 jumpers at Maple Ridge, and one year at Thunderbird. I don’t have any big goals, since I’m only riding until the end of June before I move away for university, but I want to make the most out of my last month and have fun! Pinecrest will miss you Ella, but wishing you the best time as you head out to university!

Exciting news! Pinecrest Stables will be offering summer camps! Our summer horse camps are for kids’ ages 6-12 who are eager to learn about horses and how we take care of them. Kids will be placed in activity groups, with a maximum of 5 campers and two instructors. Our activity groups will be lead through a variety of horse lessons such as grooming, stable management, feeding, horse care and English style riding. Our camps are aimed to teach kids all about how we intera...ct and take care of horses while enjoying horse themed games and activities down in Southlands, Vancouver.
